I hired Comfort Keepers to clean my home as I cannot do it myself anymore, I walk with a cane and walking is very painful. Also my husband has had 2 strokes so I really needed help.I felt so good when I hired them. Had to put up a deposit (2 months of what my bill will be). And they hold it till you stop their services. But I felt I now had someone to help me and I could add hours when I could manage the extra cost.The girl was to be here last friday. First visit. She did not show. She was to be here from 9 to 1 that first time and 3 hours each visit thereafter. NO SHOW. I called the office. The manager called and said she would check. The girl was not answering her phone. Manager said she would get someone for us. She would call back in 20 minutes. Nothing. I called and kept going to voice mail. Finally I was told they could get no one for me.I had the sheets lying on the couch and the cleaning supplies and paper towels on the counter. All set for them. Had to cancel appointment I had set for later that morning. All in all I made half dozen or more calls and most went to voice mail. I told at least 2 people that I did get what happened and nothing.The COO suddenly was on the line from Lake Charles I think, not sure, but she seemed upset when I told her about no show and etc. Told her I had a big thing of paper towels in the trunk of my car that I was going to get the gal to carry them in for me. I had carried everything else in but that was too heavy. She sent out the manager from here in Shreveport to carry them in for me at no charge.And she said she would make things right for me. To give her till monday. This is sunday. Meanwhile I am thinking, with private help they break things, steal things and just do not show up. So I thought Comfort Keepers would be the thing. Well, I am thinking if you cannot do it yourself, you are flat screwed. So I am back to checking around for private help and will also see what CK tells me when they call back. But I must say I am real let down about it all. I will try to let you know what happens. I also needed them to take me for my cataract surgery but now I am thinking if they cannot show up to run a vac how can I depend on them to pick me u for surgery. We have no family in this state and our friends all moved away at retirement or died so we are very alone. I thought I had found a company that would help us. Now wonder if help even exists.Will try to let you know what the COO does on monday if I can find this site again. And of course you can get back to us if you like.
Very professional and caring staff. Owners are knowledgeable and up to date on trainings which made me feel more at ease about care. I would recommend this company to my friends and family.
I have been with this company for 3 months and have had 3 different people since I signed up. The first one came two times, asked if I would consider her if she went into business on her own and then called the company and said her car needed some repair. And she never came back. I was left sitting and waiting until I called the company and found they were closed every other friday. Called the emergency number and was told (when they called back) that he (the director did not do the staffing, but he would make a few calls and see what he could find out. It seems that they thought the girl's car would be ok by next day, but she never called or spoke to them again. Tony said he would find someone else. By then I had waited 45 minutes and knew it would take another hour or more to get anyone so I said forget it.I got on internet and started looking to see if I could find the girls phone number and what I did find was a warrant for her in Texas.I called the company about this and was told they only check in Louisiana. But I know it was listed there too.Second girl came. Did a beautiful job of dusting, etc., came twice and quit the company saying she had too much going on in her personal life. 3rd month and 3rd girl. Very pleasant, acted sedated. Did not seem to be able to read. I put all cleanser products on counter and she went under counter ??? and used my degreaser dishwasher liquid to mop my vinyl kitchen floor and my bathroom tile floors.I said no you should use the Pine-sol, that other stuff will make us fall, slippery gunk. So she used the entire half=bottle of Pine-Sol to redo the floor.She broke the end caps off my mini-blinds, maybe hit them hard when using swiffer. Broke hanger off my swiffer taking it off the hook.And put the wet mop in the broom closet before leaving which I did not realize until I noticed no mop in bucket in the laundry room. So soaking wet mop was on top of dust pan, broom, swiffer, dust mop, etc.I was very nice and let her go in 2 and a half hours instead of 3, said she had done plenty and could go. A waste of money and more money to spend to buy more cleaning products.After she left I noticed her large handbag on a chair. She had forgotten it. And my husband came in with her cell phone charger that was plugged in and laying across the floor. She had been on her cell about half the time she was here, making and getting calls.I am talking with another company next week. Hopefully this one will work. She came back to pick up her handbag about 2 hours later. And asked me if I would use her if she quit the company and went out on her own.Hopfully this other company will be one I can count on. With no family in this state it is hard and I had hoped for people I could depend on. I would say NOT this company.
Never had consistent care and would wait to last minute to tell us no one was available leaving us in a bind. Terrible communication.
This hospital is crap! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hospital. I had a nurse that refused to answer my call. I had severe Strep Throat. I kept calling the nurses station. I couldn't talk. I would call and she'd answer, but I couldn't answer. Finally, 2 hours later she came to my room. She said she didn't come to my room because I wouldn't tell her what I wanted. I was trying, I just couldn't talk loud. I asked for pain meds. She came by my room to say she had it approved, 2 hours later after asking another nurse why I hadn't received it, she brought it in. I wrote everything up in a survey they sent me, but nobody ever bothered to call me. The worst part, my room was filthy! My pillow fell off my broken bed and when I picked it up it was black with dirt. It smelled rotten. My IV pole had a broken wheel and more than once I nearly fell to the floor. If I had had any kind of surgery, I probably would have fallen. The water got turned off repeatedly, not good when you are severely ill. This hospital isn't suitable for anything or anyone!
These people are very unprofessional. I would not DARE hire these people to care for my mother ever again. The supervisor Julie is trailer trash with a nasty attitude.
Employees refuse to give a schedule, don't show up on time, and are in and out as quickly as possible.
I was referred by a friend and was truly happy with services. It is a new company but they really do treat my mom like their own family
