Took my 2002 Toyota Camry to Maaco in Shoreline. Paul was VERY professional and gave me an estimate for body work & a new paint job. With the interior being tan everyone suggested that i stay with the gold instead of silver blue. GREAT job Paul, Jon & my family too. The body work looks super & I LOVE the paint job. It's like having a new car without the new car price tag. THANKS AGAIN Maaco. Hopefully I won't need to see you again...but if I do you'll see me. I will HIGHLY recommend you to anyone who asks.
We had a 2008 Honda Accord completely repainted. The factory paint job was peeling and fading horribly. I was concerned that the Maaco paint job wouldn't look as good a Honda factory paint job (at least a good one) but I was very happily surprised. The car looks like it just rolled off of the Honda lot! The price was very good and we were lucky no body work was required. The whole process was quick. We brought it in on a Saturday and it was ready the next Wednesday. The owner took a lot of time to explain the different levels of paint and sealers that were available and then he walked me around to several cars that had been painted or were in the process of being painted so I could see for myself. He was very friendly, patient and willing to answer any goofy question I could come up with. There were no surprises...they did what they said they would do and charged exactly what the quote was...how refreshing!
Here's what I got on my Hyundai Tiburon for under $1000: Full front bumper removal, prep, and paint (it looked bad from road damage but, with no real dents). Rear spoiler prep and paint (I removed and re-installed). Upper rail ding (quarter size dent) repair - so well done that I can't even find where it was. Right mirror removal, repair, and paint. And rocker panel removal, repair (was a real mess with a large road damage hole), and paint. (*my vehicle was returned with all the specified items re-attached professionally - I had even stopped by unanounced, mid-work, and I did see that those items were indeed removed, repaired, and re-painted. I was even encouraged to have a look at them. They do what they agree to do).
I am very pleased. Jon and his son, Tyler, are a pleasure to work with and Jon actually took some money off my original bid since he didn't need to repaint the upper rail ding.
I can't remember the last time that I had work done on a vehicle, and when I went to pick it up and pay the bill, it was less than the estimate.
On leaving, Jon (the owner) said that if I had any concerns to let him know. I felt that he meant it and that he stands by his work, which improved my vehicle's look to the point that I bolted to my insurance carrier and added collision & theft coverage to my policy.
I had never met Jon or Tyler before just driving in. The place is within walking distance of my home and I only have one vehicle, so I gave it a bit of a gamble with no recommendations from anyone either way. I'm very glad that I did. My Tiburon looks new again. Thanks again guys.
Took my car there for some unibody work. While most places have a base charge of 1k for this kind of work, I drove away with a straight unibody here for less than 400. I took my car in for an alignment and everything is now within spec. I'm very happy about that. About my only complaint is I wanted the fender to seat better on the side that was hit. I think all they did was straighten the axil alignment, but for the price I can't complain.
I have never taken the time to actually post a review on yelp, but after the service I received, at the Shoreline Maaco, I had to acknowledge Jon and his team beyond a verbal thank you. I went in inquiring about fixing some body damage and possibly re-painting my '04 Yukon Denali and after getting some price quotes from other body shops I decided to return to Jon's shop. He conveniently scheduled my work to be done with I was going to be out of town, which saved me having to get a rental car! He quoted me 7-8 days to get the job done and completed it in 6 days! This was a big job, painting a Denali glossy black (from silver) and the finished product looks amazing!! I felt like I got a new truck when I picked it up that day. After leaving the shop I had noticed one of my rear lights was not working. I called Jon and he said just bring it back in and we will fix it. I brought my truck back in a few days later and Jon immediately met me outside and had a mechanic pull the lights apart, replace the bulb and I was on my way. Jon was apologetic for missing this before I left the first time, but he was quick to fix this issue and didn't charge me anything! I am always leery to try a new body shop, but I will definitely return to Jon in the future if I need work done. Kudos to him and his team! Thanks Jon!!!
I stopped by today to ask if they could help me replace the light bulb of my headlight. I had previously gone to O'Reilly to buy the bulb and the employee there told me he couldn't replace it because it was too complicated. I bought just one bulb when I actually needed two. Maaco is just a few blocks down from O'Reilly so went there.
Jon and Taylor were amazing. Very respectful and friendly. Jon went to O'Reilly to get the other bulb I needed and charged me less than O'Reilly for it. They replaced my light bulb in no time. Jon actually offered not to charge me for thr service but I had no problem paying since I know their time is valuable. I only paid $10 for the replacement.
If I ever have any car problems, I'll take my car there for sure.
The bodywork and paint job came out fine. Great actually. And for a good price. I would not hesitate to use Maaco again. Really good value. One star off is for the fact that my car was supposed to be ready but when I arrived some of the lights and my license plate were not done yet. The owner was nice enough to get his guys to hussle and get the car ready and unfortunately their hussle was, well a bit leisurely. I ended up waiting about 50 minutes from the point when I arrived for pick up to driving away. Car looks great though!
I brought one of my work trucks here to have it painted white. They did great, and the truck looks really good! As far as I can tell it's a quality paint job. Sure, there's some overspray in the wheelwells, and little on the tailpipes. But hey, it's a fine trade-off for such a nice quality paint job at a less than stratospheric price. I love it!
Only reason this is not 5 stars is because I had to call each day to check on progress. They said it would be "ready Wednesday" but didn't call to let me know it wasn't. My rental truck was cheap though (Handy Andy's) so I'm not complaining.
