From Business: Â Jay Tell is the first dealer in history to buy and sell AMERICA'S RAREST STAMP -- $397,838.00 -- Dec. 21, 1999 This is still the Internet world-record holder fo…
I brought in an inherited multiple catalog stamp collection and told one of the co-owners I had researched the stamps via Scott catalog, but needed an expert appraisal, to which the co-owner agreed with to$100 hr. with a cap of 10 hrs. After more than a month later, I paid with a portion of the collection (actually greater than estimated) in trade left with my collection and the appraisal. I later discovered that he had only Scott cataloged new/used on the appraisal with no expert quality evaluation, which is not what I was seeking and I thought this was quite clear that I had already looked up in Scott catalogs for relative value, but need quality expert examination and appraisal. I have subsequently called multiple times and left messages to no avail. I trusted them with my collection and did not receive the agreed appraisal and paid for an unprofessional evaluation, something I already had taken the time to research myself. I PAID $1000 PLUS ON A MISREPRESENTATION OF WORLDWIDE STAMP CO. EXPERTISE. VERY DISSATISFIED!!!
