I went to this clinic many years ago and had anything but a positive experience. I literally saw the vet slam my cat's head on the table when he couldn't get her to hold still. She was fine if I were right there next to her, but he insisted I sit down instead, even after telling him she would be fine if I could stand next to the table. Needless to say, I grabbed my cat and left., never to return.

The vet also completely messed up on a declaw surgery with the same cat. Though with one visit to another vet, who I will not name, it was corrected immediately and never caused her any further discomfort.

I am not sure if the same vet is there or not, though I would seriously hope not, but that was my experience. The vet techs and office personnel, on the other hand, were amazing.

I have been going to Shelbyville Animal Clinic since the 80's. Dr. Epler is the most caring and kind vet I have ever had. The staff is also just wonderful.
Dr. Epler, Sandy and the staff have always helped all my animals. Everything is completely explained to me so I can make the most informative decision about my pets. I have only received EXCELLENT care through all these years. Shelbyville is so lucky to have this great animal clinic!

Hi, I just wanted to say that every time we bring one of our cats in, the staff is caring and gentle. We recently received a postcard in the mail from Dr. Epler asking how our Millie was doing. I want to say she is just great! Thanks for your kindness.

The best vet. and staff you could find anywhere! Dr. Epler is a genius with animals- he knows everything and is very affordable. He saved our collie mix years ago who had heart worms when we got her. He has treated our terrier for her skin issues yearly and recently performed a hernia surgery without any problems. I was worried she had a tumor and he just felt under her tummy and knew right away it was a hernia and was right. She was back to normal after just a week! He doesn't push a lot of tests on you like other offices I've been to. He explains everything thoroughly to you and is patient with any questions you may have. You can tell that he became a vet because he loves animals. I drive 45 minutes to his office now and will continue to take my animals to him even after I move. I would drive hours to stay with someone I trust :)

Very knowledgable vet! I recommend this clinic to anyone with dogs or cats who need medical attention. Vet techs there are very sweet and helpful in any matter!
