Do NOT attend Labaron! I completely agree with the last person. We don't have anyone who knows and can actually show us how to do nails. Everything I learned was by myself or asking other students. I feel like it is a complete waste of money. This is the most expensive manicuring program in Kansas and we don't even have a nail technician as a teacher. I am unsatisfied and would never recommend anyone to attend. The thing that is most frustrating is the so called instructors lie to me. I wish I saw this comment before I enrolled. What a disappointment. I am limited to what I am able to learn and spending almost $3,000.

Currently a student at LaBaron

I'm very happy with my experience at LaBaron. One of the things they really excel at is flexibility. They do their best to fit a program to your schedule, whether you can only do nights or you are a full time student. They also do a good job at teaching what you are interested in, instead of telling you what you will learn. The teachers are very helpful and always take the time to answer your questions and give you demonstrations. I'd definitely recommend LaBaron.

DO NOT ENROLL THERE!!!

I attended this school as a nail technician and my experience was not good. There was no full time nail tech instructor to teach any of the nail students. All nail students must learn from each other. This school will hide supplies from you such as acetone and buffers because they are "illegal" (buffers are allowed, they just didnt want us to use it on clients because buffers are a 1 time use and they do not want to spend money buying more). The supposedly nail tech instructor did not teach us anything and will tell you false information such as buffers are "illegal". There are no guidelines or layout for the program. Most schools will have guidelines, for example:

Week 1 - Finish Chapter 1-3

Week 2 - Test Chap 1-3

At Labaron you will NOT get any of that.

The supposedly nail instructor is incharge of the Overland Park school and having to be the nail instructor overloads her. She is unbale to teach her students and run the school at the same time. The head of the nail school is almost never there. The whole time I was enrolled at Labaron I saw her maybe for a week.

However, labaron hired a part-time nail instructor (she does not have her teaching license but was still hired??) who teaches only on Monday and Friday. Lovely lady who knows what she is doing and have great experience.

I am sorry to hear that a student of mine was not happy with their training. LaBaron has been training nail techs and cosmetologists for over 27 years in Overland Park Kansas. We have graduated hundreds of happy students over the years. The majority of people who enroll at my school is through word of mouth from friend to friend who as gone to this school. We have also had SEVERAL mother and then 20 years later daughter graduates. I would like to invite any one interested in starting school to come in for a day or two of classes....talk to our students and instructors and decide for yourself if this is a school for you. We really want you to be happy you came here.
