Severn School is a coeducational day school that enrolls more than 580 students in grades six through 12 and was founded in 1914. It offers a wide variety of academic, athletic and extracurricular activities. Its academic curriculum includes English, fine arts, foreign languages, history, mathematics and science. The school provides a variety of athletic activities, including baseball, basketball, field hockey, cross country, lacrosse, golf, sailing, swimming, soccer, track and tennis. Its more than 10-acre campus includes various academic buildings, a gymnasium, athletic fields and library. Severn School is approved by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Maryland State Board of Education. The school is located in Severna Park, Md., and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools.
