I have had the most horrible experience renting a car from Enterprise, it has been a non stop nightmare.
I started by making an online reservation, it was reserved many days in advance so that vehicle would be available at time requested.
I arrived to Enterprise (Selma, CA) at the date and time specified on reservation, no cars were available, I was told by the manager (Ben) that I had 2 options, to go home and wait for their call or stick around while they brought me a car from another location, he showed NO consideration towards the situation at ALL, he didn't care that I had made a reservation, he stated that there were no cars available for me to drive and that was it. I was very upset.
I was driven on an Enterprise truck to the Fresno Air Terminal location of Enterprise to go get a car, this was a 30 minute ride North from Selma, CA, which was out of my way as I was heading south to Los Angeles.
When we arrived to the FAT, I was confronted with another situation, there were only 2 cars available, yes, 2 cars, one of them had a key without the enterprise key chain which contains the vehicles ID number so I was told I couldn't have that one, the other was dirty inside and out. The folks that took me to the FAT promptly took the empty soda cans and trash out of the second vehicle and told me that was the car I was going to be given. The vehicle looked as it had been taken on a 4x4 mud fest on the outside. I was asked if I would like it washed, I was already an hour behind schedule so I couldn't wait for that.
My nightmare didn't end there, while in Los Angeles, I realized the vehicle I was given had expired tags, February 2010, seriously, a rental car with expired tags. I got pulled over twice for that by LAPD and Bakersfield PD.
At this point I do not know what Enterprise could do for me, but I am going to complain until my face turns blue to whoever listens to me BBB is my first stop.
