About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Too expensive, so so care

I have mixed feelings about this daycare. In one hand the daycare is very well located (although inconvenient when looking for parking in the middle of the day). On the other hand this daycare is extremely expensive. At almost 1800/month for infants you would expect some things are complementary, but it is not the case. If you want extra curricular activities, they will charge them. If you want to take your baby out for the summer or vacation, they will charge you as usual just to secure the spot (which is expected from other daycares, but at this price you would expect that they could afford to offer some other solutions). About the care, which is the most important thing, well let's just say that the price is not justified. The teachers wait until the babies are over tired to put them in the crib. Once I found my baby sleeping in the carpet. Several times I found my baby with a dirty diaper at pick up time. I would advice you to hire a nanny for this price, they usually charge around 10/hour. Their facilities are beautiful, the place is basically new. However from the first time I went there, I sensed that their main focus was the business/money. I was not sure if I wanted that daycare, but like a lot of other parents in the area I had no choice. The offer for daycare does not supply the demand and professional parents are let with no other choice but to pick these types of daycares that strangle your pocket because with the daycare market as is, they just can.

Not quite as bad as most of the new libraries.

The crop of library buildings which were built with recent bond issue funds universally share some of the biggest problems I’ve seen in public architecture in my life. None of them are really usable, with Ballard being one of the poorer designs. While not as bad as the new Central Library or the Greenwood Branch, this location still makes for a bad experience. The new libraries in this town break every rule of the Bauhaus. I’ve come to firmly believe that we need a law forcing bureaucrats to contract American firms (if not local ones) to design any building being constructed for public use with public funds. European architects, while trendy, are clueless. Although the architects were aiming for an ergonomic and environmentally correct target, the overall effect is one of emptiness. The computers at all the Seattle Libraries also have several problems, starting with the version of flash player which they have loaded. I have found some websites won’t reload, while others cause all my internet windows to close without warning. Some email sites, including Yahoo, won’t load properly, either, so you can’t delete messages or move them to other folders. These same sites all work fine on computers at the King County Library computers, so this is just a case of bad IT on the part of the Seattle system. If you can get to the KCLS, do. BTW, yes, I am a Seattle resident, so my tax dollars are supporting this joke.

Warm and inviting, but not open enough days and still has computer problems.

The crop of library buildings which were built with recent bond issue funds universally share some of the biggest problems I’ve seen in public architecture in my life. Give me this sort of old-fashioned, clean and human design. BTW, these older libraries aren’t just beautiful, they are historic. After the (then-separate)town of Ballard managed to convince Andrew Carnegie that our area would not blow away in the wind some day, the door was opened for several humans-first designed library buildings. I’m so glad this and others have been restored, instead of being demolished. With that said, computer problems exist as at all Seattle Public Libraries, starting with the version of flash player which they have loaded. Better than the new ones, not as comfortable to use as the old ones.

The crop of library buildings which were built or renewed with recent bond issue funds universally share some of the biggest problems I’ve seen in public architecture in my life. None of them are fully usable, but this location is less egregious than the entirely new buildings. While the new section is still impersonal and uninviting, enough of the original building survives to make it usable for human beings. The computers at all the Seattle Libraries have several problems, starting with the version of flash player which they have loaded. I have found some websites won’t reload, while others cause all my internet windows to close without warning. Some email sites, including Yahoo, won’t load properly, either, so you can’t delete messages or move them to other folders. You should absolutely go here....

You should absolutely go here. It's not for everyone - their marketing is abysmal. They have no sense of how to promote the "sizzle". It's very hard to find, down a warren of corridors, in the basement, and the only sign is a sign out on the sidewalk when they are open. It is to the immediate west of Great Harvest Bread Company, and also next to Bop Street Records - a glass door. They have a F A N T A S T I C collection of the kinds of books you like - secret societies, energy work, chakra and breath work, government coverups, first-person UFO abduction stories, scholarly work on ancient archeological sites that show that human society is tens of thousands of years old, new research on mind-meld technlogies, NLP, Rudolf Steiner, etc. More than anyone can possibly handle in one lifetime. They are only open afternoons, but I think there are some evening programs too. You'll love it. You have to pay $35 and join if you want to take out books, but anyone can sit and read.

I am a student in the Doctor of Transformational Leadership program. It is amazing! Bakke Graduate University has changed my life. As I enter the dissertation phase I am looking back and can count this as one of the most enlightening and useful programs I have taken. Most of the classes are online, can be completed anywhere. Since I travel a lot, this has been great! Fully accredited also. They offer degrees in business, theology and ministry and have a pretty innovative online Christian MBA program.

We had excellent care and service, very friendly, professional and super clean clinic. We needed to go through medical screening for US Visa Applications, and found them listed as designated civil surgeon on https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor My advice is to plan for extra time and ask up front about all costs involved and final expected payment. The total amount we paid was higher than anticipated but to be honest, we received great care, service and the forms at the end were filled perfectly.

Fast, Quick, & Easy!

My family & I always file our taxes through TBS (9 years now), we wouldn't go anywhere else. The office is very small, and they only accept cash, but we literally get our taxes done in 15 minutes or less! They're very professional, and very knowledgable, just make sure you have all your paper work (tax credits/deductibles/receipts/etc).

Healing amazing acupuncture!

Konnie Suther is a great acupuncturist in Ballard. She is intuitive, skilled and really kind. She is great at listening to words, but also listening to what people's bodies need. She has healed me from seasonal depression and other more serious issues. Her prices are reasonable and you can't go wrong with her!
