My fiancé at the time had suggested we go to Morfey's for our wedding cake. We set up an appointment to sample several different cakes and frostings and viewed several different styles of wedding cakes we could choose or build from, the cakes were beautiful. We were not rushed to make a decision and was given time alone to discuss our thoughts. The environment was very peaceful and clean. Come the big day our cake was delivered right on time and the driver was very patient and friendly while we went looking for a table and cloth to set up for the cake. The cake was the only thing that went right that special day and it was delicious, every plate was scraped clean and guests were asking to take slices home. We celebrate our anniversary with one of Morfey's cakes each year. I would highly recommend this place; the people are friendly, the bakery is very clean and the environment is very relaxing. The detail that goes into the cakes are perfect every time. When we order our anniversary cake it is like looking at a miniature replica of our wedding cake and the taste is always the same. It is nice to know a place that is so reliable and dedicated in every way. We are looking forward to celebrating another happy year with one of Morfeys cakes.
I walked by this bakery nearly a hundred times, and never realized how good the cakes were there. We ordered a customized birthday cake from there asking only not to add Durian (some Asian bakeries tend to put Durian in their cake) and it came back white icing with fresh cut fruit, beautiful red lettering, and the filling was green with shredded coconut. So yummy! :) I believe half sheet cakes are at least $40.
I recently had lunch at this little spot in Georgetown.....and wow was it great! I had the Italian Chicken Soup, it was amazing....real pieces of chicken, little raviolis and fresh greens. They have cookies the size of your head! Lots of other great looking treats too....I can't wait to go back and try the lunch special, the day I was there it was chicken enchiladas!!!!
We recently visited Dahlia Lounge for the first time during restaurant week. The appetizer was mediocre; when I was drinking my soap I thought it didn't really live up to the hype. But then the entree came and it was delicious. And the dessert? The triple coconut cream pie was out-of-this-worldly delicious!! 2 out of 3; not too bad!
Well, I was visiting Seattle this past weekend, and stumbled across one of my favorite publishers, Laughing Elephant. It seems they have just opened their first retail store, and the Pike Place Market is the perfect place! They are clear down on level 3 in space 329, but it's worth every minute. Highly recommended! Such a Seattle treat while here visiting. The Vermont Crumpet with maple butter, cream cheese, and walnuts is sinfully delicious. There are sweet and savory options for these much tastier cousins of the English muffin.
I have never had a disappointing meal here. Incredible "WOW" factors including the braised greens and the fritters. Service is friendly and excellent.
Good food but could use more meat/protein options. For those who are happy to have mostly bread for breakfast this place is for you.
This shop is so organized and the service is fast. You would not get disappointed with their cakes and pastries. Try them yourself.
On weekends and holidays, the line is out the door. Great variety of breads and pastries. The day-old section is fine too.
