I belong to the Tacoma All Star. I have found it to be a good place to work out. I did not read all of the contract when I signed it. I thought I was signing up on a month to month basis, & found out when I tried to discontinue after two months that it was a one year agreement. I offered to pay the difference between the month to month rate and the annual monthly rate to offset All Stars loss and my offer was refused. The contract is binding. Oh, I forgot to mention, I also signed up for my son because he is unemployed right now, thinking that it would be a good place to bring my grandchildren. So, I will honor the contract and continue to pay what I owe --approx. $700.00 for the remaining 10 months. My reason for writing this is to advise anyone thinking of joining to READ the fine print before signing the contract.
This place is truly phenominal, as is the free trade, fresh coffee. I did not feel rushed, as in some other coffee places, and even though the "sit around space" is not as "cool" as others, it is relaxing and not noisy. I've been to this shop so many times, and they always have a new coffee bean they've roasted right there. The baristas are well informed and know exactly which coffee to recommend based on my description of what I am looking for. I have never been disappointed. All those other reviews are years old. This shop is definitely worth experiencing now!
I was very excited to try this place and I must say I was a little disappointed. While I did think that their old fashioned doughnuts were pretty good, everything else I sampled was not that great. I tried one of their cake doughnuts with frosting/sprinkles and it was not tasty at all. I just threw it away…was not going to waste the calories on something that was not worth it. Their dough does not have that good of flavor, just tastes like greasy bread. It is a cute spot though with a great ambiance, but for me that’s about it.
A nice stroll on a Saturday on greenwood laned us here. Its a writers haven with backrooms and a deck. Its a little girls fantasy with a case of daily handmade chicolate who's ingredients take chocolate to a new standard. chocolate drinks. chocolate smells that seduces the strongest of us. local imagination at its finest. someone go there and mail me some! post office across the street! best book store in town with open mics and readingd across the street.
This is the most amazing coffeehouse I've visited. Move over all the snob coffee shops, this one has heart and soul. The coffee was the best in Seattle (Hotwire received best coffeeshop in West Seattle last year) and the staff are very friendly. You receive FREE Internet surfing too. Cute coffeeshop, great outdoor patio! It's tiny and busy but worth the trip to a wonderful coffeehouse with REAL people and GREAT coffee.
The food is pretty good. They have a large selection of things to choose from but the one thing that I really don't like about the place is that it follows UW's bureaucratic trends. The little rules posted throughout the restaurant make you feel as if you need a timer to eat there. Apparently they aren't aiming to be the place to hang out and work...
Shortstop is a hidden gem that can't be missed because of it's giant coffee cup on top of the building. It's a great place to meet a friend or take a quick break from your ride on the Burke Gilman trail on your way to the Ballard Locks. Awesome coffee and great service!!! Check it out!
I always think the Starbucks stores with the fireplaces are the best and this one has a warm fireplace with nice cushy seats right next to it so go cuddle up with a hot latte and stay warm this winter.
Love this little shop. Great doughnuts... cute patio. Everyone always shows up for coffee with their laptops. Not crazy about the coffee... but a great little morning excursion.
Enjoyed visiting this location as it is the first Starbucks. Very friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyed our cafe latte with almond milk and matcha latte! Worth the small wait.
