This place exudes class. The wait staff was extremely courteous, on point and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing. Mouth-watering foie gras atop a large scallop with two types of sauce and a juicy, cooked to perfection filet mignon wrapped in bacon with an oyster in the center, atop a bed of spinach and scalloped potatoes. Drinks were divine, ambiance was perfect, all in all a fantastic evening! You will surely enjoy this dining experience.

I visited this establishment on a recent Thursday evening by reservation. The Brooklyn is a good restaurant. Having said that, there are many things to bear in mind when you walk through the door. Every effort is made to present an upscale appearance; from valet service, to full oyster bar, extensive wine and liquor menu and smartly dressed staff, elaborate plate presentations and high prices. Despite the facade, however, I was disappointed at every turn through the evening. The waiter, who at first was affable, attractive and accommodating, became less and less so through the evening, even spilling the better part of a scotch sampler all over the table. I ordered a Basil Gimlet, which was surprisingly good, and felt it a good omen for the meal; I was wrong. The restaurant was loud, making comfortable conversation difficult. The appetizers (caprese salad and Ahi Tuna Tar Tar) were elaborately presented, but were difficult to share (small). Moreover, the Ahi Tuna was of poor quality (tough and stringy). This did not bode well for my dinner entree, for I had requested for their seared Ahi Tuna, which had been described as ""sashimi grade"" by our waiter. However, the fish I received was of the same poor quality as the appetizer, and was attended by an underwhelming sauce and vegetable side and a strange, not entirely appetizing herbed noodle. I chose their creme brulee for dessert, which was good, but the price was inconsistent with the quality. I guess this is the underlying theme to the entire meal, mediocre quality for gourmet pricing. I was not paying the tab, so I felt it inappropriate to complain, but I would have given the manager an earful if it had been my onus. There are too many good restaurants in Seattle to waste your evening and your paycheck here.

The Brooklyn was a long time favorite -- so much so that I brought all my friends and family there and even went for a few of my birthdays. No longer. Tonight, there were creepy crawlies on the oysters. (Can't post any words that would alert the authorities on this website.) Once we complained, we were told they are ""natural"". They eventually comp'd the check -- but that was after my mother and girlfriend were pretty visibly disgusted. I don't think they even inspected the oysters to be sure they could continue to serve them to the rest of the guests. So, if you ate there tonight -- you might have gotten some unexpected protein...

We were unprepared on a recent visit to Seattle and did not have reservations on a Friday night, so we decided to take our chances sitting at the bar for dinner. It was actually a delight to be sitting in a place where we could people-watch while still absorbing the ambience, and also be able to take advantage of our bartender's (Cheston)conversation. He was very attentive, helpful and personable providing sound recommendations on what we should do on our visit to Seattle. We both had steaks, and the New York Peppercorn was a standout. It was tender and flavorful and I thought about it for days later. I am extremely happy that we took our concierge's recommedation to give The Brooklyn a try.

We went to Brooklyn's for the first time last night, and had a very enjoyable time. Roger is a first class waiter, and he enhanced our experience tremendously by explaining all the choices carefully, and entertained us all evening with little anecdotes and tidbits of information.
We had such a good time that we neglected to notice the damage the valet parking did to our vehicle until the next day with the sun up. You should be aware that if you use the valet service, you waive nearly all of your legal recourse in the event of damage.

I was recommended by a friend to come here, so I did with my boyfriend! If you want fresh seafood, this is your stop. I still do not know what my dish was called, but there was a lot of fresh tender seafood. My boyfriend loved his steak and I was happy! Yes, it was pricey, but worth it. It was only $88 (including tip) for two without drinks. Not bad considering we got an appetizer, two main courses and dessert. Next time, I'm going to try the Oysters! I forgot to mention about the execllent attention we received from our waiter. Very attentive! Oh and the hostesses in the front were not only beautiful, but great!

We were excited to try the Brooklyn for the first time last Saturday evening - it was a special evening, celebrating two birthdays. The oysters were great, and the entrees were good. However, because of our waiter, it was a bit of a battle to actually get to the food and drink part of our experience. He was condescending and short with us the entire evening, starting the evening out by informing us how busy he was and that he didn't have time for this or that. It showed. He forgot to bring entire courses, neglected to remember that he'd taken a drink order (we often had to remind him 3x) and offered no apologies. It was busy that night, but my experience waiting tables is enough for me to know that there are many ways to let your table know that it's a bit hectic and still provide them with ample service without ruining their experience.
We'll never return here - we paid $400 for 4 people to be treated as if we'd just rolled off the last cabbage truck. Ouch.

I went to Brooklyn with a friend the other day and was highly disappointed in the food. I got the Hawaiian Ono and my friend got a small crab dish; the presentation was fancy but the seasoning was off and the portions sparse. There are many better restaurants in the downtown area!
