I've been seeing Steven for my haircuts since 2007 and he is wonderful! He always knows exactly what I need, whether it is a drastic change or a minor trim. Another great thing about Steven is that he always has interesting stories to tell while he is cutting my hair so I am always entertained.

I am a loyal client to this salon. I was a client of Sonya at a queen anne salon. I followed her to this salon. It decorated very nicely. It is in the heart of greenwood. The salon has excellent safe parking in the back. Lots place to pick up a snack before or after your appt. The salon has great coffee, tea, and other beverage selection. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. The receptionist are very nice and professional. Sonya takes care of all of my waxing needs. She is a pro. Soyna recommended Jessica for hair care. Jessica now only does my hair and will follow her anywhere. She is an amazing stylist. I love it when she does my hair. I walk out with a great style and feeling hot!!! Not only are their professional skills are A++++. They are the coolest ladies. They warm, down to earth, fun, and girls you like and respect. They give you excellent advise on styling. They do not try to over sell any products or services. Each every visit you just closer to them. This a trustworthy professional salon. I could not recommend it enough.

I got a mediocre haircut from another salon nearby and made an appointment with Reed to fix it based on the reviews I read here. Reed was great--he really listened to what I was hoping to do with my hair and made some recommendations. The cut is fantastic, he was fun to chat with and the salon is beautiful while also very comfortable.

I wanted to rate - Steven Cole Salon a 5 star because when I first walked in I was treated with the utmost respect, and customer service. I had an appointment with Sonja (Esthetician) - as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a warming smile and a arm around the shoulder. The Steven Cole Salon itself has so much character and really makes you feel at home in Ballard. As I walked in the room to get my waxing - I heard a wonderful, calming fountain and music that was subtle. Sonja has a special touch to her - she just makes you feel so comfortable. I have followed her from the Habitude Salon in Ballard and refuse to go to anyone else. If you want superb service, with care and experience - go see Sonja at the Steven Cole Salon.

The headline says it all! I have trusted Reed for my haircuts for a number of years because he truly excels in his craft! I feel he does the Stop, Look, Listen which is so great when you are trusting someone with shears in hand, ready to subtly or radically change your look for the better. He certainly listens to my expectations, gives me feedback on what he recommends would be the best cut for my face and sense of style, and always makes the task seem effortless! The conversation is so chilled that sometimes I feel that I am in my living room. :o) Honestly, he definitely earns and deserves the great reviews and praise!

I have just moved to Seattle from Boston. Let's just say that leaving Boston was easy but leaving my old hair stylist was not. I made an appointment with Reed based on recommendations from friends and they were right. I am thrilled with the cut that Reed gave me and will absolutely be seeing him again and again and again.
Reed Alan is the most talented stylist in Seattle. I am always at a loss as to what I should do with my hair but Reed always has great suggestions and ideas that turn out better than I could have ever imagined. If you want your hair to look better than it ever has before, make an appointment with Reed at the Steven Cole Salon and take advantage of this great talent at very resonable prices.

The best hair styles I have ever had are a result of Reed Alan's genius styling skills! I never know what to do with my hair but I dont have to worry any more because Reed is full of suggestions and great ideas which always turn out better than I could have imagined. Even though he is one of the most talented stylist in Seattle (and not hard to look at!) he is very humble and unpretentious. I always feel very comfortable in the salon and enjoy great conversation. I drive 3 hours to have him cut my hair and would gladly drive twice that length if that is what it took. If you want your hair to look better than it ever has before, go to the Steven Cole Salon and make an appointment with Reed Alan.

My sister was in town this week, I see her about twice a year. When she comes home we love to get our hair cut and colored together. She picked a salon that could not get us in based on our time constraints. I was going through citysearch and saw a weird name...Balayage, my sister gasped when I mentioned it. She said she can get Balayage done in New York and L.A. but was surprised someone was doing it in little ol' Seatte. We booked appointments for back to back cuts and colors with Jedediah. When we arrived at the salon we were greeted by name. The salon was clean and comfortable. We arrived early and went for a beer at the pig and whistle bar next door, yum. Anyhow, Jedediah took my sister first and I had a chance to relax and look at magazines for a cut and color. I get my hair cut once a year or so. My sis says I'm frumpy. Even though I usually don't know exactly what I want I kinda expect the hair artist to help me figure it out. In the last 10 years or so no one has really gotten my hair right so I just don't like going. Well that has all changed. Jedediah gave me an amazing cut and color and today I have had so many compliments. I think people are surprised and are thinking ""hey there really is a cute gal in there""! My sis is someone who knows her hair down to the 16th of an inch. She knows exactly what color, style etc she wants. My goodness I did not know someone could be so picky about their hair. Jedediah, who is the Jedediah Master, worked with her like he had known her for years. He made sure she walked out a happy gal. No re-do on that one and that is a common thing for my sis. She is hard to please. There was no sales pressure and we all had such a fun time, complimentary wine too. My sis booked us appointments for Dec so we can do it again. I am so excited to find Jedediah and the salon. I will never be frumpy again now that I know where I can go to get exactly what I want even if I really don't know exactly what I want.

If you want a haircut, just go to Reed. He's the best I've found, so for the last 8 years or so, life in the hair department has been simply lovely for me. No disappointments, no drama, no nervousness about trying someone new. Once in LA I strayed from Reed and tried some glamorous salon a friend recommended, and I was so schooled about sticking with what works. Reed is sweet, fun, smart, and gorgeous!. I'm so glad he's back in town. He also does a great job on my husband's curly wild hair! You will love Reed!

I HAVE READ THE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS SALON, AND WHOEVER HAS COMPLAINTS HAS NOT SEEN REED!!! I was referred to Reed by one of my girlfriends who has been going to him for years. My stylist just wasn't ""cutting it"" anymore so I decided to try him out. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER, REED GAVE ME THE BEST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD! If you want a cut that will keep looking great MONTHS after getting it done go see him, you won't be sorry! As an extra bonus, he is super hot, nice and funny... hard not to love!

I use to see Jazmine and Shylo at this salon, they left about a year ago. Since I have been unable to find them I thought Id give the salon another try. I got the worst service, cut and color ever. The owner would not shut his mouth, he paid no attention to my hair. I will need to grow my hair for months to fix his chop job! The colorist was very nice, but his work was mediocre at best. How he was voted Seattle best colorist, baffles me!?! PLEASE take my advice and stay far away from this scary business! I don't want you to ruin your hair too! I wish I could find my previous stylists... I have heard they are close to Greenlake, I just don't know where! :(

After much recommendation from several groups of friends, I finally booked an apt. with the infamous hair stylist, Reed. He did not disappoint! This is the best cut I have ever had. He took his time to explain why he was cutting where and answerd all of my questions. The conversation was great. Not too much, not too little. He was never pushy with selling product, but happy to help if asked. My hair has never looked so good....

I went to the salon to have my hair colored. The salons' top colorist applied my color and said he would leave it on for 15 minutes. He left the saloon for an errand. Thirty minutes later I asked the receptionist to call his cell phone as he had not returned. He finally rushed in 45 minutes later to finish my hair color.
My haircolor was hideous, it was over-processed. It had oxidized and turned several shades darker than
desired. My scalp had severe itching for months. It will take several months for my hair to recover from this awful experience.
I feel from personal experience that this is a highly over-rated saloon.

I was so excited to learn that Reed is back in town after leaving for LA a couple of years ago. I used to see Reed at Gene Juarez for years and I never found another sylist that could come close to doing what he is capable of. He is hands down the best stylist in Seattle and Steven Cole is lucky to have him!!! Girls, if you want a great cut get in to see him while he still has room on his schedule!

I recently relocated to Seattle from the Lake Tahoe area. I had been going to the same colorist/stylist for about 15 years, and needless to say was a bit traumatized by the idea of finding someone new.
My first appointment with Jedediah went well; I scheduled a balayage (highlight) and nothing else. Since this was a trial run, I did not want to take a chance by getting a trim. I enjoyed the idle chitchat and the ""getting to know you"" conversation, it was a very low-key, relaxed experience. I liked the balayage process, but at the end noted that it was not as blonde as it generally was right after the highlight session ~ I mentioned this to Jedediah and he listened and let me know that it would become progressively more and more blonde as I continued the balayage, but that if I wasn't satisfied to come back and he'd fix it. I gave it a week and while I saw it get a tad lighter, I decided to forgo making a correction appointment and instead simply wait for the next appointment.
I don't tend to follow any set schedule when getting my hair highlighted. I just wake up one day, it looks too dark, and I make an appointment.
I went in for my second appointment with Jedediah this afternoon, and was once again pleased with the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the salon. Jedediah asked me details about what my expectations and preferences were for the balayage and trim, and I explained that I wanted more of my hair blonde and that he was free to trim whatever needed it, provided that I lost no more than 2"" in length. I received exactly what I wanted, and couldn't be more pleased with the results.
I am extremely pleased with everyone at the Steven Cole salon. Emily, Christopher and Steven are friendly and attentive, making the experience truly enjoyable. I have found a new colorist/stylist and salon, and I can't recommend Jedediah enough. He's truly phenomenal!

I used to be a regular at this salon, but unfortunatly my stylist and colorist both left, and the new colorist is NOTHING in comparison. I asked for golden highlights, and they turned out orange. Literally, orange. And on top of that, after spending almost $200 on the color alone, they charged me extra to have my hair blowdryed. Not even styled, just blowdryed. Are you kidding me? That should be included. And the owner is such a salesman, I felt the entire time like they were trying to push other services and products on me. The salon itself is cute, and Kerri does good haircuts, but DON?T get your hair colored here.

I've never been the type of person to regularly go to a salon, but I decided to treat myself to a girly day a few months back. I booked an appointment with Jedediah, the colorist, and Kerri, a stylist, and also had a facial while I was there (Le Grand Clasique--WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE!!) with Jennifer. I now have standing appointments booked every couple of months.
I had color and highlights with a new technique called Bayalage. Jedediah took his time and truly has an eye for creating the most beautiful color I've ever had.
Kerri, my stylist, is fast and efficient and cuts my hair the way it grows, which makes it easier for styling. I have also seen Andrea for styles, and I love her work as well. She takes her time and really pampers you!
Jennifer gives the most amazing facials!! I'd never had one and now I am completely addicted!! She dips your hands in fruit scneted parafain wax and really goes all out to make sure you have the best experience possible. Her room is very accomodating and she uses to best skin care on the market to make sure you get the best results.
I reccomend this salon to EVERYONE I know! The staff is friendly and warm, it's clean, well-lit and the stylists listen to what YOU want.

At the beginning, I liked the salon, liked Steven's cuts and was overall pleased. But after my third appointment, I kind of felt like I was being marketed too much... suggesting other services within the salon. I did take advantage of brow waxing with Jennifer (who is wonderful) and then also was piqued by getting a partial foil and I absolutely loved the results under Jerediah's careful but creative hands. However, my last two haircuts since then have been uneventful and rather dismal. I felt a week after that I needed another haircut. Steven is a great guy, but i find he focuses more on generating business than giving a good cut. Perhaps I should I try another hairdresser there, but I've decided that the drive to Greenwood isn't worth it.

This place is great. I just had a corrective color by Jedediah and he did a great job. Also, the prices aren't too outrageous. Upscale but not snooty, really friendly staff. I came in pretty scared and had a great experience. My hair came out exactly how I envisioned it to be.
