Have been going to Rick's Tire and Service for car repairs for several years now and they never cease to surprise me. Took my car in for brake exam - they kept car all day and tested, retested and could find nothing wrong which was good news. But the real good news was that they didn't charge me for their time! Yes, you heard me correctly - all day and they even offered to drive me home when I left car in morning. This is not the first time I have had this experience with them. They have rotated tires and replaced wiper blades free - They truly stand behind their work. A real family feel to the place. I took a chance a few years ago to get repairs here as it was convenient to my home. I have never been dissappointed and neither will you.
I have used these guys for years and always been happy with my service. You will find them straight forward and honest. If you need any repair, maintance or tires don't waste your time shopping around town. Rick's will be honest, quick and give you the best bottom line price. Thanks for all the years of exceeding our expectations!
Great place to bring your vehicle to have the job done right.
Read the one bad review--my guess is he is a competing shop; too bad peaple are allowed to lie on these reviews without some ramification.
Don't have a second thought about bringing your car to Rick's; it will be fixed right and at a competitive price.

HA!!!! leave it to Ricks to talk you into somthing you don't need for good $ you didn't have to spend. Took my 97 golf in for diagnostics and after fault code p0301 appeared he recommended cracked master, faulty coil pack and oxygen sensor, ""we can get the part in today if you leave it with us now, but you definitely should not drive anymore"". After a little investigation of my own i found it was a blown plug in the 1 slot. What they wanted $650 for i fixed on my own with a snake socket and $1.59 at Action Auto Parts. What a joke! I'm sure i'm not the first and certainly not the last. Word to the wise, educate yourself before you go throwin hard earned $ at the scandalous thieves at ricks auto.
I bought a new 1995 Trooper and took it down the street to my local mechanic in Kenmore for a check up. There weren't any major problems with the engine they found, but desparately needed new brakes, radiator flush, tranny flush, etc. The brake quote alone was over $1300. A friend knows the owner and said to give the shop a call. I did and they quoted and did the work on the brakes for less than 1/2 the price. There was no hassle and it was easy to schedule. Definitely will be going here from now on.
I came across Rick's Tire & Service on SR99 heading home one day and my car BROKE DOWN about a block away on2-12-10..I walk north on SR99 in the rain and came across Ricks Tire and Service and it was about 5:30 ""and they close at 6:00"" The gentleman behind the counter was VERY BUSY, but told me to have a seat and he'll be right with me. Well at about 6:10 he ask me where my car was, and what was the wrong with it. I told him the basic's ""It won't run, it just died"" He was kind enough to drive me down to my car in the RAIN and take a look at it and try to start it. ""No Luck"" we then went back to his shop and he help toe it up the street to his place of business, and said I'll look at it in the morning and call you. Before I left he ask ""do you have a ride"" I told him that yes I did. I was VERY IMPRESSED with there CUSTOMER SERVICE and how he went out of his way to help me when he could have just went home for the evening. Since then I have and will taking all my business that way from a oil change to auto repair's.
OK...so yeah....I'm ""That Girl"" ....don't know a lot about cars just know I want mine running well so I don't end up broken down in the middle of the freeway at rush hour.....Needed to do my 30k service and was going to take it to my dealer as per usual......Checked with Rick's and they could do the service significantly cheaper. In this economy....that speaks volumes...not to mention the fact they took the time to walk me through everything they were doing to make sure nothing was missed. In addition, they found an issue with wear on one of my tires and helped me out. I do a lot of driving and want to be safe on the road for myself and others. After my experience at Rick's.....I won't take my vehicle anywhere else!
We recently took our 2002 Toyota Camry in for some brake and engine maintenance. Much to our chagrin, we found out that we needed a new serpentine belt and catalytic converter on top of brakes; not what we were expecting. The work, however, was done the same day and we were back rolling down the road. We love the friendly, family atmosphere. We have taken our cars there since 1996 and will continue to do so. No question ~ Rick's Tire & Service is the BEST little shop in town!

I will not be using Rick's again. I have spent a lot of money there on mutliple cars and have never had the cars perform right afterward, it actually seemed like there were more problems and have had to had them fixed elsewhere. Also, they told me certain things were wrong and other mechanics said it was all ok. I do not trust them and would be very cautious about using them. Maybe they are better with domestic cars, but my Japanese SUV was abused there.

I was looking for tires on a car i bought Dec 2009, one month ago. I was looking for specific tires, and thought as i was driving by, and thought of stopping many moons ago, made the stop and got a quote for the specific tires i was interested in. I also asked about having the car checked out and a possible tune up as well as replacing the fuel filter since the car took several times to start when cold. i ordered the tires and brought the car in the next day as we planned. He had suggested that there was a clean out process for cars like mine that will clean out the carbon and gunk in the engine and that it worked best when left over night. Anyway, i picked the car the following day as suggested, with new tires and the cleanup process done. I was told that the car needed no fuel filter as it was practically new, and no other repairs were needed since the car showed well through the diagnostics they performed. They could have sold me a tune up and filter and maybe more, but the car did not need them and he pointed out that tuneups are not needed like they once did years ago. I was treated well here and got what i wanted without it costing me an arm and leg too. he was honest and i asked about other possible problems or needs like brake work, front end alignment, or oil change and so on, which the car did not need. HONESTY is part of their work and it pays to keep a customer. I do the same in my computer work repairs as they are all important and that is what service is all about. Thanks, Rick's Auto Service, not only have you gained another customer, but i have recommended your work to my room mate and he will bring his car there too. I will also be bringing my other car here for diagnostics and repairs.

Rick's Rox!! I took my TJ (Jeep) in for a axle swap and ARB Locker.. best service EVER! They did the work right the first time (other place screwed it up) and it was cheaper. The guy at the counter (Mark I think?) was very informative and they had good coffee ;-P

We got a used care at an auction for my son - hoped it was a good deal, but were a little nervous. Took it in to see what we actually bought. They ran a complete diagnostic on it and then printed out each of the items that the car would need done in the future. VERY LOW pressure. He was kind enough to point out each of the items and explained in detail the urgency behind each one. I paid for a quick diagnostic and got a lot of information, totally worth it! Now when we are ready to have the suggested repairs made, we'll be in! Thanks to everyone there!

I went in b/c my car was not turning on. We do not know much about cars so we went in to ask. We asked how much it would be for us to diagnose it. He was very rude about the whole matter and repeated about 5 or 6 times that it would depend on if it was an electrical problem or an engine problem. WE DONT KNOW! That is the point!. His tone started rude and went to intolerable and he was staring me down. Finally, he just picked up his phone, sat down and started talking to someone and completely ignored us. Please do not go here, it is about principle. People should treat others with common courtesy, it is essential. I really wish I knew his name, white male late 30's, short hair.
I use Rick's Tire & Service for all of my cars. I have found them to be very honest and they have good prices. They have even repaired/adjusted a few minor things for me at no charge. You don't find that too much anymore. I will be using them for all my car issues.
I was in the repair shop at the time the last person was in and that was NOT exactly what happened!! TShe came in and asked if someone would look at her vehicle and the gentlemen said yes it will be this much money if this is the problem for diagnosing the problem if not the amount will be this much if it is the other since she couldn't explain the problem. She responded with I don't know what is wrong and he said I won't know either until I get it in the shop and take a look at it and figure it out. She wasn't interested in that explanation and wanted him to use his magic powers to tell her what was wrong without looking at the car and charging her the lowest price. This went on for a few moments and then with phones ringing he proceed to answer the phone while she figured out what she was going to do. I asked about her when she left and he said it was the 3rd time she had been in (and he'd given her the exact same explanation each time) and wanted him to figure it out at no charge and without looking at it. This would frustrated anyone in any business.
I went to Ricks after a friend of mine told me that it was the most honest place in Seattle... he was not lying!
My car was over heating and the hot air was blowing cold, so I took the car to a few other places (I like to get 3 bids) and all of the other places told me that ""You need a new water pump and should replace the timing belt at the same time"". They also wanted $500- $700!
The last place I went was Ricks. They said it sounded like a bad radiator cap. They replaced the cap and my car works great. They saved me hundreds so I am writing a review! Hands down the cheapest mechanic visit I have ever had... they have a life long customer in me. Would recommend (and do) to anyone needing car repair!
I recently took my vehicle to Rick's Tire and being a woman I was hesitant taking it to a new shop. The manager took the time and explained to me what repairs my car needed and what was the most important repair to do first. I have to watch my money so it was nice to not be told that my car needed everything right now! The repairs were done in a timely manner and at the price they told me. My car has found a new mechanic!
