As strange as it may be I can'...

As strange as it may be I can't speak for the Pho at this place. According to Yelp it's not that good. But as far as Vietnamese sandwiches go its awesome. They are $3.00, quick and good when you only have a few minutes to grab food. During the school year I go here at least once a week.

Addictive tofu bahn mi

I've only had the tofu bahn mi at this place, but, boy, was it good! It is so addictive that even if I am not ravenously hungry when I order it, once the sandwich arrives, I cannot stop eating it until it is gone. In fact, I was once late for an exam because I absolutely had to finish my sandwich. Thinking about it makes my mouth water right now, and I can almost taste the tofu, the fresh baguette, the pickled vegetables, the jalapenos, the smoky-tasting sauce, and the mushrooms that I don't normally like but that are perfect in this sandwich.

I haven't tried any of the other items on their menu, so I can't comment on those.

The only drawback for me is that they do not take credit or debit cards for small orders (either under $5 or under $10, I can't remember), and I believe there is a credit/debit card surcharge for larger orders. I know that businesses have to pay a fee for each credit card transaction, and for small orders, the fee can be a significant percentage of the total amount (e.g. 50 cents on a sandwich that costs $3.75); however, I wish they weren't so petty. After all, most other places, including other small restaurants, just accept it and absorb the cost. If they really feel the need to pass the cost on to the customers, maybe they should just raise the price of every menu item by 50 cents. I doubt that anyone would even notice this slight increase, and it certainly wouldn't turn anyone away, while the signs posted on the cash register about cash only for small orders and card surcharges will, in fact, turn away some people, including those who only have plastic in their pocket, which is becoming more and more common.
