Our dog is very shy and is intimidated by bigger sized dog. But we need to board her for one week so it is so nice Metro Dog offers a free trial day. The staff members are very professional. They are like-dog trainers and know our dog even better than us. Our dog did very well during the trial day. She must have played hard during her stay and she was tired out when we got her home. We feel comfortable to leave her with them next time.

When my 9 month old puppy really really wants something he flops on the floor and rolls over and over. This is how he was found one morning by the staff outside their front door. He loves Metro Dog and he really really wanted to be let in to play!
I work a few blocks from Metro Dog and that morning was not planning on day-caring the puppy. As I entered my work building I was surprised that he was suddenly nowhere to be seen. This was a huge surprise as he has separation anxiety and had never left my side in the month since I had adopted him from the shelter. Worried & not knowing where else to look I walked up the street to Metro Dog. One of the employees was just leaving the building to look for me knowing that I was somewhere nearby. She was relieved to see me & laughingly told me that the puppy was indeed at Metro Dog & had been begging to be let in.
All the folks who work at Metro Dog are so kind & fun & seem to be talented at working with the dogs. My puppy is shy with people but has a happy spaz-fit whenever he sees any of the employees. They all seem to know him & his antics well & I'm happy to see him like them so much & also follow their commands when they tell him to do something.
My puppy is small (about 13 pounds) but loves to play with any size dog. Usually he is just in the mix and playing with any of the dogs there, but every now and then he's in a smaller play group of only small dogs (which is so cute!). When I take him to the park or dog parks he is a social pro so I know that he's learning great skills at Metro Dog.
When I pick him up he is always sleepy & happy. I always enjoy hearing stories from the staff about how the day went. One by one I'm learning the names of other dogs there as they point out his best pals. One day I was chatting with an employee as I picked him up. There must have been 20 dogs around her - but they were all sitting or laying down calmly. As she was telling me about the day, a large dog walked over to sit and lean on her leg & she absent-mindedly picked up the dog's ear & was rubbing it as she talked. Nobody moved for the several minutes I was there (especially the dog getting the ear rub).
I'm so glad to have found Metro Dog. I think it's a wonderful place where dogs can have time together but also have positive human attention. It's such a great place for dogs and people too! I highly recommend it!

Great place to leave my Dog. I have a Dachsund and he is very shy. He is not mean, but just not the most outgoing with people and other dogs. They are so great here at making him feel welcome. I feel so comfortable leaving him here. They are the best!!!! I actually had one of the staffers recognized him in the Greenlake area and he was really excited to see her. Makes me feel great!

I purchased a monthly package and have been So Happy with Metro Dog. I've been taking my dog twice a week and have been 100% satisfied.
When I went in to buy the package - I had a coupon. However, the woman working told me there was a better one out there. We found that one, and I was told I can use my initial coupon next time. Great!
Upon arriving at MD my dog is excited and ready to get in and play. When I arrive to pick her up, she is always excited to see me, however she is spent! Tired Tired Puppy. Great!
Everytime we go - the employees know my dog. They greet her, make her sit before entering the play area. They even noticed when she got a new collar. If it happens to be someone I've never met before the person introduces himself and treats Lola like they are old friends. Great!
I will say, our first time going I was apprehensive looking at the outside appearance of the building. However - the outside is Totally Deceiving! This is one of those ""Dives"" from the outside that is the best place you've ever been on the inside. Do It!
I will reiterate, I've been nothing but fully happy with MD and will continue bringing my dog here. The employees are professional, curteous, dog people, attentive, and smart with the dogs. Lola and I both leave with smiles on our faces. Thank You MetroDog.

My young dog loves this place! He plays real hard and the staff makes sure that he doesn't overexert himself. Although he only shows up twice a week, they know his name as I walk him in the door. He comes home tired and happy.
We boarded him for 4 days while we went away on a long weekend. The staff kept us up to date on how he was doing during his stay.
I recommend this place as a great doggie daycare for your pup.

Our dog is 5 years old and has been going to Metro Dog daycare two days/wk since he was a puppy. I am happy to say that we have had nothing but the BEST experience since day one.
The people at Metro Dog truly are his second family and have been wonderful partners in helping to raise him. :) Their love, care, and genuine concern for his well-being and happiness shine through in every interaction with both him and ""the people"" in our family.
He absolutely LOVES Metro Dog and is super excited to arrive on his days. We have also boarded him here on many occasions and for varying lengths of time (up to 8 days). Each time he comes home from ""his trip"" clean, happy and easily adjusts back to our normal routine. We feel very fortunate to have Metro Dog on our team!

We were referred to Metro Dog by friends and have not been disappointed. They are very professional - the facility is clean and our mini Dachshund loves it. We have only used them for daycare so far, but will be leaving our dog there for a week in March. I feel totally secure that he will be well cared for!

Metro Dog is the BEST Day Care/ Boarding facility around town. I adopted a high energy hound dog from a local rescue organization. I found out the hard way about her separation anxiety issues....I needed to take my dog to a doggie day care A.S.A.P. I have boarded and used the day care for over 2 years and I'm delighted to see the same helpful smiling faces welcoming my dog. If it wasn't for the owners and staff at Metro Dog I would not have been able to work through all of the issues my dog had when I adopted her. The owners and staff are knowledgeable and compassionate dog people. They give me detailed information about how my dog behaved throughout the day with the staff and other dogs. My dog has always come home happy and tuckered out...
Just what the doctor ordered!
I have worked in the veterinary field for 20+ years and I highly recommend any of Metro Dog's services.

The staff is conscientious and caring and treat the dogs as they would their own. They are always polite to the owners and often go the extra mile in customer service. One time a neighbor's dog was out and although I didn't have their phone number, I knew they took their dog to Metro Dog. I called Metro Dog who not only called all the numbers they had for the owners, but one of the staff drove to the house to try and catch the dog in order to bring it back to Metro Dog and wait for the owner to show up. I have never had any problems and have been taking our dog in weekly for two years as well as numerous overnight visits when we are on vacation.

Our dog (lab/cattle dog mix) always seems excited when we pull the car into the Metro Dog lot. Lots of energetic dogs to play with. She's not huge (~40 lbs), but we've never had any problems with injuries, stress, or smell. And the people really seem to understand dogs and to appreciate return business (most of the staff recognize our dog on sight now). We had to leave our dog over the holidays recently- when we got back, we saw she was given a complimentary bath, and we had a greeting card sent from them (with a picture of our dog playing) in the mail.
Wish they could include some training or walking services with the boarding.

As soon as I turn the corner to Metro Dog, my dog starts wagging his tail and can't wait to get out of the car. He's always tired and happy after a day there. The staff cares about him, and I get a report about how he's done that day. When he boards there, the staff is aware of his age and gives him breaks throughout his stay.

I am just about to take my dog in to veterinarian to have them take out 8 steel staples in my dogs forehead. We left our dog at Metro Dog over Thanksgiving and we received a call on Thanksgiving about a gash on his head. When we returned to sort this out they told us that 'they don't know what happened' and 'the dog just came in off the floor with this huge gash'.
They way they handled the whole incident was very insensitive and I caution others who are looking for a place to take their dog. I also think that people should check out other reviews of 'open wounds' See google maps reviews Lindsey F.'s comments on April 23 2008 ""We've been taking our dog here for a year and half and it's been great until recently. Within the last 3 visits my dog has come back injured twice. The first time he came home with an abrasion on his cornea and the second he had a huge gash in his ear. Both times I asked Metro Dog if anything happened and they said they didn't notice anything.""
This place is no longer safe for our dog. Please watch out.

My dog loves this place and I liked how they helped her socialize with all different sized dogs. Everytime I go, they know her by name and when I pick her up, they give me an update on how she did, who she played with, and any other exciting things that happened that day. As soon as we drive up, my dog leaps from my car and she can't wait to get inside. I think she knows every morning that when we get in my car, she gets to see her best friends at daycare.

Metro Dog was able to take my dog on a busy 4th of July weekend. It was a VERY pleasant, easy experience all the way around. When I picked up Bruno, two staff members described his behavior- it was clear that they got to know him while he was there. It looked like he had a great time. I really appreciated how friendly the staff was with me. I felt like they were happy to be there, and happy to have Bruno. When the need arises for doggy day care or overnight care, I will certainly use this place again.

I just picked my dog up from a week long stay. He had a blast as always. He didn't want to come home!!!! I have a hyperactive cazy terrier that can be a challenge to handle. They know exactly how to handle him. Not everyone does! The facility is great. I love that they don't separate the dogs by size and put them in small unsupervised rooms. My dog is small, but likes to play with bigger dogs. They have such a large indoor area the dogs can really run around, also an outdoor area to play and go potty. They have a low employee turn over rate so the staff really gets to know your dog. I expect my dog to come home smelling like a dog. That way I know he has been playing with the other dogs and having a good time. I have been taking my dog there for the last 5 years and wouldn't take him anywhere else!!! He always comes home healthy, happy and really tired. Thanks Metro Dog. Don't know what we would do without you!!!!

My partner and I have a rescue dog and we wanted to be sure our dog was in good hands. We have been taking him to Metro dog for the past year and a half and I have noticed that he ALWAYS comes home smelling of Urine, even after he has been given a bath. The past few times we have taken him there for all day stays he has come home with a corneal abrasion and last night he was acting strange after all day stay. We noticed when we touched his right ear he would wine and pull away. We called Metro dog to ask if they noticed anything or if another dog had bitten our dog and they said everything was fine and they didn't see anything. After a closer examination of his ear we found that it was very bloody and there was a large wound on his ear. I feel the employees are very friendly and genuinely care about dogs, but perhaps Metro dog needs to reconsider the number of the dogs they take in each day, if they cannot effectively monitor every dog and miss something as big as a dog bite to the ear. Due to injuries and concern about the cleanliness we have decided to no longer use Metro Dog for day care.

My 1.5 yo lab TJ loves ""going to school"" 2-3 days a week. Watching the staff work with the animals, they really know their stuff, and are Dog People. Whenever they've noticed a problem with TJ, whether off-behavior, digestive troubles, or possible injury, they've notified me right away when I pick him up (once calling me when it seemed like he'd twisted an ankle) They've also let me know right away about changes to the facility, schedules, etc.
The facility is clean and open, and while some reviewers have commented on ""the smell"" I've only noticed that my dog smells like a DOG when he's done romping with his buddies for an afternoon.
The trial session policy was one thing that really attracted me; they seemed willing to work with animals that needed help integrating with the pack (since anytime more than 1 dog is in a room, a pack is formed) and really understood the dynamics that get set up. In fact, they've taught my pup some really good manners - not to jump, how to interact with strange dogs we meet in the park, how to be friendly and non-threatening to small dogs..
