Love the food!
Love the staff!
Lurve the sound!
Best room in town for intimate listening.
Egan's has a great retro feel that makes feel like you've been transported to NYC in the 30s. The tables are small and packed closely together, but the focus is all on the well-lit stage, which takes up about a third of the small room. The acoustics are phenomenal and the tight quarters actually pull you into the music even more. Nice selection of wines and a decent service bar, too.

This was my first time at Egans. Loved the venue, small and intimate with good sound. However, we went there very hungry planning on eating dinner. Big mistake. Overpriced, horrible food with questionnable service. I ordered the chicken which was 1/2 raw and flavorless. Someone else in my party ordered the ""steak"" which he described as an oversized hamburger. The portions are small, the prices high. Eat dinner elsewhere then go listen to some music at Egans.

Egans is a great place to listen to jazz. I have been there more times than I count when I lived about a mile away in Phinney Ridge. the setting is intimate. the sound is great. the service in general is lacking in a big way and one particular wait person is the worst server I have encountered in a long time. show up. pay your cover. this wait person will take your food and beverage order. this person returns with your beverage and your food then disappears for the rest of the night never to check on you again. as I said earlier I have been to Egans many times and this experience has played out each time I get stuck with this wait person. the beer selection is great. they have Dead Guy from Rogue in bottles.
Go to Egans to enjoy the music and expect the service to be minimal.
