Provided by Citysearch -This bar is my favorite. The bartenders are great, the beer is cold, they have a pool table and even a ping pong table (summertime). There are few really good neighborhood bars in seattle and this is one. Service can get slow when it's busy, belly up to the bar if you can and get to know your bartender. Karaoke on thursday and saturday, trivia on tuesday. I live close so I'm a little biased but I love this place!!!!

Provided by Citysearch -The Boxcar is this small narrow building across from the train tracks. Even though it is a tall building there is no up stairs. The seating arrangment could be better, the stage is way tiny and the bathrooms are cramped. But hey this is a Blue Collar type of place. Just be careful as you walk to the bathrooms not to catch the back end of a pool cue to the nugget, nto a whol lot of room to move around. The selection of beer is on par with the rest of Seattle with the local favorites and the major labels represented. The outdoor smoking patio is partially covered, good for rainy days. The service is bad, bad , bad. I walked into the bar and stood at the bar for 6 minutes. Then finally when the waitress comes over she says she will be right with me and my friends. Then she walks out to have a smoke. WTF! Then when we do get served she gets our order wrong 3 out of 5 rounds that we orderd. I did not not eat there but some of the people playing pool raved about the food. This place has the potential to become a great place to start off at. Just need better wait staff.
