April 2010. After reading all the glowing reviews, I thought I would give them a try. It took me all most two weeks to even get in touch with them. After a week and a half of calling and leaving messages, I went to their office address listed on their web page and it looked closed down. I was going to write a review then to let people know that they had closed. Just as I was writing the review, I got a call from Andy at AVL and was told that they had just moved and were having problems with their new phone system. OK, that makes sense....I dropped off my speaker at their new location that they share with another AV company further down the road. I was told it would be a two week turn around. That was in late February. After 2 weeks went by, I started leaving messages on their system. Late March, I received a call saying it would be one more day. I have been leaving messages since then on every extension and cant seem to get a call back. It is now April 9th and I would like to get my speaker back whether it is fixed or not. Zack Dewey, who has gotten rave reviews in the past seems to no longer work there. His voice mail has been full to capacity for over a month. If they aren't out of business now, they probably will be soon. I think I'm going to have to camp out in front of their office to get my beautiful vintage 15"" Altec bass speaker back. I hate leaving bad reviews but this has gone on too long. !Update!. was informed that my speaker was finished on April 27th. They said that they would deliver it to me, but due to scheduling conflicts, it never happened. I went by their office on May 5th at lunch to see if I could pick it up and nobody was there from AVL. A helpful person from the other company that Avl shares the space with helped me find my speaker. There was an invoice on the speaker that said $45.00. ""Sweet!"" I thought....I'm getting a discount for my troubles (original price was quoted as $90.00). I left $45 in cash on their work bench/desk and got a copy of the invoice. I was going to delete this review but then this morning I got an email from Daniel...He wants another $53.55. So. If you like that kind of service... by all means. Use AVL Professionals. Also, before you sign any major service contract with them, check out their Better Business Bureau profile. They have an ""F"".

I brought in a monitor that had crackling and humming. When I brought it there, it sounded fine. I thought I was going crazy seeing that it behaved well at their office. The staff was very helpful and pain-stakingly went through the trouble-shooting process to eliminate it. I would bring it home, still hear the crackling and humming, bring it back, and they would patiently try other things to get it fixed. Wow. They never gave up on me and my speaker. The wait time was also very short. I am very impressed by their customer service - it's over and beyond the par. I feel very welcome there and recommend AVL Professional to all sound engineers.

I just got my speakers back from AVL and they got my subwoofer working again. The guy told me he had to replace the cone. Anyways, they got me bass again. I even got a call checking up on the speaker a week later. I've been to other shops and they don't even compare.

Zach at AVL Professional fixed my amp that nobody else would even look at. I dropped it off on Monday and it was done by Thursday morning. One of the techs came out to help me get the amp out of my car and even loaded it back up for me when I picked it up.
I was told that the amp was an easy fix and it ended up being a lot less than I expected. I was expecting to pay hundreds to get it repaired, but Zach told me he only had to replace one part and it costed me $95! To say I'm happy is an understatement!

I took an amp and a pair of speakers to Avl Professional because my normal shop closed it's doors. Zak checked me in and said he'd have it done in a week. Three days later, he called and told me to come pick them up. He got the humm out of my amp and replaced the foam in both of my speakers! Best of all, it only took him 3 days! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My daughter has a 5-disc DVD player, which did not work any more. I bought her a new one-disc DVD player, and was told that the 5-disc ones are obsolete and not available any more. Prior to giving her the new DVD player, I thought I would give a repair a chance. I went to City Search and looked-up ""Audio Repair"" and came-up with AVL Professionals, and read two reviews. I was impressed by the reviewers, and went to Airport Way South , talked to Zak and left the DVD player there. Zak called me 4 days later to tell me that the DVD is fixed. It had a stuck DVD inside. He said that he adjusted all the components and checked it out and it works just fine. I was very happy with the quick and professional service. I got 10% off because I printed the coupon they have on their web-site for first-time repairs. I wholeheartedly recommend this outfit.

January 2008 - Needed a repair on my KEF powered subwoofer (PSW2000) and brought it in for Zach and his team to to take a look at. Zach took care of the problem and I was able to pick up my speaker within the time promised and the price was as quoted. No surprises, just honest professional service. I would recommend to friends and would go to AVL Professional again. I really appreciated the follow up call from Zach checking back with me on how the speaker was working!

I have a vintage tube amp (my all time favorite piece of gear) that had been giving me trouble for the past month and was desperate to get it fixed. After an hour of calling around, I found that no other shop would even look at the unit. Bummed and frustrated, I was beginning to think it was destined to become an overpriced paperweight, when an old friend of mine let me in on the guys he's been using for the past 6 months and told me to give them a call. I'm glad I did.
I called and talked to the technician there (I think his name is Zak) and he said he'd take a look and see what he could do. I dropped it off last Wednesday and was told that he'd back to me within their guaranteed two week turnaround time. Much to my surprise/delight, I got a call on Friday, only two days later, and was told the amp was ready to be picked up! When I got there, they not only fixed it but also cleaned it to make it look beautiful again!
I'm SOLD on these guys!
