This has been the worst experience with any company ever. I purchased two tickets and an upgrade and then when I arrived at the train station was informed the train was cancelled. I was telephoned later that day to tell me the train was cancelled and the money would be refunded. I received a refund for the upgrade only. I then contacted the company and was repeatedly lied to about the remainder of my refund. I was told it would be applied to a card I never used. I was treated rudely. They would not allow me to explain that I did not use the card they were attempting to refund the money to and then they hung up on me. I am filing a report with the better business bureau. Do NOT work with this company.

When a tour agency sends a vehicle to our home to take us to the airport, that is good planning and great service. The rest of the tour (China) was just as good. The tour guide anticipated problems we might have and let us know what to expect and how to handle them. However not everyone listens and those are the ones who have the most trouble. We have traveled many times with Alki Tours and while not always entirely problem free, nothing kept us from thoroughly enjoying the tour. My wife had a breathing problem (COPD) and got tired on one leg of the tour in Beijing. The tour guide found her a cab so she could go back to the hotel and the rest of the tour went on. When I forgot a backpack at the hotel when we were going home, the tour guide called the hotel and got it returned to me at home. That is ""above and beyond""....

We've been on three of Alki Tours' international trips, including Egypt, and couldn't be more thrilled. We are currently researching locations for our next trip with Alki and hoped to find interesting reviews here to guide our next location decision. We were shocked to see the review written by the women who injured her ankle on the Egypt tour and are horrified to see what has been written. It was an amazing and beautiful trip guided by a very knowledgable guide who went over and beyond to accommodate each guest experience. The guide scheduled many extra and FREE excursions including the boat trip on the Nile River that the review refers to. It was a glorious sunset boat ride and that I cherish enough to hang pictures of on my office wall. The unfortunate accident resulting in the woman's injury was of no fault of the guide or Alki Tours but instead the result of the client's carelessness and extreme lack of basic health and fitness. In reality, it was another moment with Alki that proved its' high level of service as the guide had a physician at the site to care for the women within 5 minutes (incredible!) ...for what ended up being only a sprained ankle! When planning this trip we created a list of sites we wanted to see in our ""spare time"". We initially planned to schedule these side trips via the hotels but in the end the guide researched our interests and made the additional locations available as options to the whole group. Don't miss the opportunity to go to Jordan and the Dead Sea while you are there! We swam in the Dead Sea and saw many of the ""holy sites"" that we had always dreamed of visiting. So far, we've been on Alki Tours' trips to Greece, China and Egypt and can't wait to decide on the next destination! We have made many new and long term friends on these trips and plan to join together again for new adventures. So the next decision is Ireland or Costa Rica...? We'll let you know how it goes!

Management is extremely rude. I missed my bus and wanted to talk to them about how the bus driver saw me in the parking and didn't stop to let me on the bus, and the manager implied that I was lying. Then the owner didn't even acknowledge, or apologize for, the manager's actions and attitude.
