She's simply the best!

I have been a client at Advanced Electrolysis for many years and am now moving to island county, but will make the commute to come to Seattle because I can't believe that I could find anyone better than Ellen Nelson to work on my face. She's simply the best. I have recommended her to many friends and all have been thrilled with the service they receive.

Getting electrolysis was a HUGE step.

S M.

Seattle, WA

Getting electrolysis was a huge step for me. I was anxious just letting my facial hair above my upper lip and on my chin grow out long enough for the initial consultation, as my unwanted facial hair has been a source of irritation and embarrassment for me for almost fifteen years. I finally decided to try electrolysis after years of other short-term hair removal methods left my skin badly scarred and constantly irritated. I think others with conspicuous unwanted facial hair might be able to identify with these issues. Thankfully, Ellen immediately put me at ease with her friendly manner and understanding (even working around my work schedule a couple of times to ensure that I wouldn't have to let my hairs grow out on a work day for electrolysis). It is true that if you are looking for a ""clinical"" setting as though you are going in for some kind of medical procedure, Advanced Electrolysis might disappoint you, as it is cozy and clean rather than having that cold, dull, ""medical"" feel. You enter the building by climbing soft, carpeted stairs to the second story where there is a comfortable, carpeted waiting room with magazines and a small adjoining bathroom. Off to the side of the waiting area, the room where Ellen performs treatments is clean and pleasant. Like one reviewer said, there are some outdated posters on the ceiling above the treatment table. I don't mind them at all (I like looking at flowers!), but if you find them irritating, this is a tiny issue in light of Ellen's professionalism and the relaxed atmosphere of the place. Ellen frequently has the radio on NPR or a non-intrusive music station during the treatments and she is conversational but never excessively so (she's really good at picking up on your mood in terms of whether you feel like talking or not). Remember that electrolysis as a procedure falls into kind of a blurred space between a medical treatment and cosmetology, so yes, you're having this procedure done by someone who has sterilized equipment and is wearing scrubs, a mask, and gloves, but Ellen also doesn't make it feel like you're in for some kind of surgical procedure (a HUGE plus in my book--I don't want my electrolysis appointments to feel like that!). My appointments have started to feel like visiting a friend whom I can totally trust not to judge me and to do as much work as possible on my face every session. If you want a clean, cozy, professional environment and absolutely outstanding service by a very understanding, friendly, and thoughtful person, I highly recommend Advanced Electrolysis.

I highly recommend

I've been going to Ellen for over 10 years now. Obviously I went regularly at first, to do the bulk of the job. But it's been pretty permanent and now I only go once or twice a year for the occasional touch-up. I think her rates are reasonable, and her hours are go in
that there are times outside of regular work hours that she is available. I've been very satisfied with my treatment and I highly recommend Ellen Nelson and Advanced Electrolysis. Also, Ellen is just a really nice person.

I won't go anywhere else!

I have been a client of this business for over a decade. The office is clean, with convenient parking and very reasonable prices. Ellen Nelson is the most patient and laid-back professional I know. She is extremely flexible with scheduling appts. and has been in the business for some time and knows her stuff. She is discreet and is honest and I won't go anywhere else.

Excellent service

Ellen is the best electrologist I have ever been to. She is unfalteringly cheerful (how does she do it); always a pleasure to catch up with at appointments. Appointments are not an ordeal to get, and parking makes it easy to get in and out. Highly recommended.

Balance between comfort and effectiveness

I tried other practitioners before I moved to this area and some were nothing short of torture. Then I found Ellen. Ellen stuck the right balance between comfort and effectiveness. I've come to her periodically over the last many years and have observed how her skill has developed. She has excellent techniques and sanitary methods. I never worry about cross contamination. I highly recommend her.
