After years of searching for a good personal trainer in Seattle, I finally found Fitness Together in West Seattle. Their concept of not only having your own personal trainer, but also your own personal gym is pure genius. I've never liked working out with crowds of people watching. I also hated waiting for machines when I was with my personal trainer. Fitness Together elminates these problems. Duncan, my personal trainer at Fitness Together West Seattle, makes each workout challenging and fun. With the whole gym to ourself, we can try many different exercises in a small amount of time. Since I have bad knees and a bad back, I can sincerely appreciate the expertise it takes to do a tough workout without hurting any previouslyl broken parts. The best part of Fitness Together is there was no initial fee and the training sessions were less than my local gym! They also offer the first session free, so I could see if I would like their style of training. I didn't like it... I loved it!
RAIN is the BEST gym in Seattle! I have been a member there for 3 1/2 years now and have never ran into any of the issues people are griping about. Not only is it CLEAN but the staff has been extremely nice and helpful whenever I had a question or a concern. One of the most important things for a gym to have (in my opinion) is great equipment. The equipment at Rain is very new and very well maintained. I love the spacious lofty feel of Rain. It is filled with natural light and has an amazing view of the Puget Sound. I tend to get lost on the treadmill while watching the ferry boats go by. I find it really nice and relaxing. I started working with a personal trainer when I first signed up. It was great because it gave me the motivation and accountability I needed to lose the weight I wanted. I really would suggest this gym to anyone who is looking for an amazing fitness facility in Seattle.
This gym is all about fitness. There's no excessive amenities to drive the membership price up. No pool or sauna but I go to the gym to workout and get in shape and they have everything you need to get a GREAT workout. Drew and his trainers give you the best workouts and are there to answer all your questions. I like to train pretty aggressively and they give me the perfect workout every time. They train all types of people, from "out-of-shape" all the way to "elite athlete" and everyone seems to leave tired and sweaty but I still see them showing up the next time for more so they must all be liking it. Where else can you go and get a personal training membership for only $50 a month. I love it!
So I recently moved to the Green Lake area from out of state and this gym has lived up to its promises thus far. I love being able to run the lake and then get my gym work out. I absolutely love the one-on-one time I get with the personal trainer and even more I love the classes. My favorite two are the pilates class and the 30-minute Ab Lab. I also love that I do not have to worry about coming in to pay for my membership every month because consistently over the past two months I have been billed on the 5th for the said amount. The staff are always incredibly nice and welcoming. Anyways I just cannot give enough praise for this gym. I was just what I had been looking for.
This place just re-opened with new owners, who are totally cool. One of them is from Philly, right near where I grew up in NJ so we hit it off right away. I just started training with Sean G and he's a great trainer! I've trained with a lot of personal trainers over the years (mostly in NJ) and Sean's definitely one of my fav's. Great personality and his sense of humor is hilarious. Sean obviously knows what he's doing as far as training goes as well. I'm going to try one of their classes too. Not sure whether I'll try the Boxing Fitness or MMA Fitness but I'll update when I do! Great parking, too, which is a rarity for Ballard!
The best part of Rain Fitness is their Group Fitness instructor Debbie. O!!! She is now teaching the much anticipated TRX suspension training classes. If you want a total workout from head to toe with a lot of core strengthening, this is the class for you!! I would even say if you are not a member, look into joining this gym just for the class! Debbie knows her stuff and will make you FEEL every workout, which will give you results.
This place is heads and tails above the rest... I couldn't have had a better experience. Everyone there was friendly and really knew a lot about the questions that I had. I really feel like this place gets away from your stereotypical gym feel - The owners are just about always there and are two really cool young guys, most of the members have been there forever, it just seems to be that place that you go to and never leave.
Just about every activity you would like in an athletic club, even with the "older" facility. It is open 24 hours! The indoor swimming pools are great for family-swim on weekends, with adult lap swim and water aerobics classes offered throughout the week. Private swim lessons are available. Gym offerings include racquetball, basketball, cycling, aerobics, yoga, and many more. Parking is available nearby.
Clean gym and the staff is friendly and keeps everything picked up. Personal trainers seem to work very well with clients, but aren't &amp;quot;selling&amp;quot; services like other gyms. I have never had any issues with payment or membership. There are plenty of machines and for the most part they are always available. Keep up the good work crew!
My husband started working out with James (Freedom Fitness) during October's Biggest Loser Challenge. He has lost almost 30 lbs and completely changed his body shape. I've been doing it a little longer, and have managed to go from a size 12 to a size 6! I love that I don't have to think about what to do at the gym - just show up to boot camp and work hard.
