I learned a lot when it comes to cooking here thanks to my teachers and chefs who put on the needed amount of time to share their knowledge to me.

The best escape room game that I have ever played. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and encouraging. If you like indoor adventure games to play with your friends in rainy Seattle, this is definitely the place to go!
The Greenlake Martial Arts School is the best place that I've found for the things that matter to me: practical self-defense training and a friendly, supportive community.I was originally drawn to the Greenlake Martial Arts School because of its connection to Bruce Lee's early training partners in Seattle. It's exciting to be a part of carrying forward Bruce's legacy through this system adapted from the Wing Chun kung fu that he taught to James DeMile, Ed Hart, and others. The founder of Tsun Jo kung fu, John Beall, named this style to make it clear that this system is a "faithful descendant" of this teaching that came before. What keeps me training at the Greenlake Martial Arts School is the commitment to practical self-defense for everyone, regardless of size, age, gender, or other characteristics. The strategies and techniques that we learn don't require great strength, speed, or flexibility.I also greatly appreciate how we are taught to defend ourselves against real attacks with a full range of responses: escaping and fleeing, deflecting, striking, grappling... whatever is appropriate for the situation. This differs from some other martial arts that I've tried that only cover a narrow range of responses. The head instructor, Matthew Soule, has tremendous patience and skill. I've never seen someone so capable of teaching to such a wide variety of skill levels, personalities, and needs.
Before I picked a martial art school, I went all over Seattle looking at all kinds of Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Aikido, and other Martial art schools. When I went and saw Sensei Minakami's school I knew it was very different. I knew it was the real deal. Joining the Minakami Karate Dojo was one of the best decisions of my life. I found important life lessons I could directly apply to make my life better. What I learned from Sensei Minakami has been more important to my life than my Graduate School years at the University of Washington. That was 35 years ago, and I have never regretted my decision. Sensei Minakami is world renown. The group they are associated with in Japan are world renown. So many martial art schools are so young these days that they lack insight to true martial art. Because of their lack of insight they end up teaching flash and fluff instead of substance. If you are looking for real martial arts handed down through Samurai families go to Minakami Karate Dojo.
