I would never take my pets here. I would sooner leave them at home alone than leave them here. After one of my friends had her pet die here, and the other having its meds mixed up with anothers, there is no way I would take my pet in here. Unless you want your pet hopped up on anothers meds, and about as alive as Michael Jackson by the time you pick them up.

As an employee of Hillrose Pet Resort I work as a playtimer, a receptionist, and a groomer. I feel that this is a place for pets of all kind and I would take my own pets here as soon as I get them. Most of my coworkers have pets of their own and treat the pets that stay with us like family members. We've dogs and cats of all kind. We've taken care of iguanas, snakes, rabbits, birds, and even fish!
My favorite places are the cattery and suites. They're both very clean and they are nicely decorated. On my breaks I even enjoy sitting with one of the pets in the suite and watching movies with them!
During my job as a receptionist I have the pleasure to meet new people and their pets. I work with everyone to ensure the safe and exact care wanted for their pets.
The best part in my job has to be the playtimes, this is when I get to take your pet out and play with them. I really enjoy getting to know what your pets wants and likes to do. I remember playing with one guy who loved this rubber bone. He was a cute mastiff that I couldn't resist but take a short clip with my phone. He would chew on this bone and pull on it, but it would snap out from his paws and bonk him in the nose and make him sneeze. I was nearly dying with how cute he was! But even after that he went right back to chewing on it again in the exact same way.
As a bather I work with Koko Ambuehl, the owner and main groomer. She is very fun, smart, and talented. All the paintings in the Resort were done by her so she is an artist. She tries her best to work with the pets and their owners. About a year ago we had a dog named George come for grooming. He was still a puppy and was shy but lively. He was very good for his grooming and left very happy but not long afterwards he came back and had changed entirely. He was scared and was nipping and biting. After speaking to George's family we found out that he had been chased by a lose dog in his neighborhood and was mentally scared. All of us at Hillrose Pet Resort were worried about him. We suggested they take him to dog parks frequently and try to have him socialized more. After about 2 weeks he came back for his grooming. Koko requested that George's owner sit in the lobby with George for a bit and stay for his grooming so that George is comfortable and knows that he is not being left behind. George did a lot better but was still scared. We continue to work with George after 3 visits now. George is doing a lot better but still is getting over his trauma.
The only thing I can say that I don't really like about our Resort is our standard areas for dogs. When I go back to see the standard area it feels very bland however I am glad because I expressed my opinion and the staff and management are willing to come up with a new ideas to make our standard area better and more comfortable for pets. We hope to implement these ideas very soon.
All of us at Hillrose Pet Resort wish to make your pets' stay a visit to paradise.

I have a very large dog that is unpredictable around strangers so I was aprehensive about boarding my dog. The staff at Hillrose Pet Resort are friendly and welcoming. The first time I called to board my dog I had tons of questions. The person I spoke with answered all my questions and invited me and my dog in for a tour. The facility is very clean and organized. The dogs are kept seperated at all times which was one of my requirements. We have boarded our dog in the basic area and also splurged for the suite a few times (which has a bed and tv with videos running all day). Although my husband and I miss our dog when we have to board him we know he is in good hands. I would reccommend Hillrose Pet Resort to anyone that is seeking a home away from home for their pet.

Our cat does not like dogs! The beauty of the cat rooms are that it's quite, and peaceful. You cannot hear the dogs barking in the nearby kennel. There are windows to the outside as well as into the room for visual interest. Our cat is very comfortable there and we rest easy while away, knowing that she is getting good care.

We know exactly where we are taking our 2 dogs! Hillrose Pet Resort is great, very friendly, our dogs go in Happy and come out Happy, Tails are always wagging and they always look good. We are so happy we found a place we can trust when we have to leave our pups.
Bailey usually doesn't warm up to strangers, but the employees here at Hillrose were very patient with him. This is a nice, clean facility with a staff who genuinely cares about the well being of your pet.
I had Bailey groomed here a few stays ago and he looked amazing! The groomers did a fabulous job with him and I know Bailey is not too fond of groomers.
I highly recommend this place!
Our dog has been boarding at Hillrose Pet Resort for 10 years. The staff has treated her well and genuinely seems to care about the animals that stay there. Some of them recognize her when we come in. She seems to like it there and bounds in whenever we take her.
You are allowed to bring towels, but not blankets. We bring her special treats for each day and a big bone to chew on as well.
I recommend the ""playtime"" as well. She gets at least one a day. We have been going so long Mariah gets an extra playtime every 3rd day.
It is clean, the stalls all have runs and are indoors and the outdoor play area is well-maintained. I highly recommend it.

Shasta has been staying at Hillrose for several years now and eagerly leaves us each time we bring her for a stay. The staff at Hillrose have been very patient with our dog the escape artist. They have gone out of their way to accommodate her antics and now give her a covered kennel so she won't try to escape. Shasta always comes back home well-mannered and happy. We have never been told there is no availability when making a reservation. We know Shasta is safe and well-cared for so we have no reason to consider boarding her anywhere else - Hillrose is certainly Shasta's home away from home.

Hillrose Pet Resort staff are loving and kind to my golden retriever and siamese cat. We rent the suite so the two can remain together, and they are happy to return each time. They are loved and cared for, as they return home very happy. I feel confident they are well taken care of while I have to be away traveling.

as a 'playtimer' at Hillrose Pet Resort! I have worked part-time for Hillrose for 3 years, and it is one of the best jobs I have ever had, not only because I have the joy of playing with all of the many wonderful dogs and cats that stay with us, but because the staff here is great too! Each and every Hillrose employee is an animal lover. We all believe your pets are our pets while they are in our care and we take their care very seriously. I highly recommend this facility to you, and not just because I work for them, but because I trust them to care for my pets while I'm away from home too!

The staff was great! Very friendly and accommodating every time I called and at pick up / drop off (don't know what the two other reviewers were talking about!).
My dog came back from a week long stay at this place happy, safe, and clean. His toys and towel were returned to me, obviously unwashed, and I was very pleased to find they smelled only like 'dog' (no urine or feces smells), so I assume they kept his space clean. He looks like he lost a little weight, but he's never interested in food at home and generally won't eat unless we make a game out of it anyway. I was most happy to see that my, usually timid, little boy showed an interest in the staff and what they were doing when I picked him up. The price was a little higher than the one other time I've had him boarded ($5/day more, $1/day extra for him using his own food and $18 more for 3 playtimes I scheduled him for), but he seems healthy and I doubt I'll be spending $130 on a vet bill for a urinary tract infection, he came out very well groomed, not stinking and, most importantly, as happy as ever - it's definitely worth the extra cost for us!
Hillrose is close to the airport, and has extended hours for convenience. I was worried about the loud noises from the planes frightening him, but he seems very happy.
I'm pleased with their service and would have no worries boarding him there again if the need for it arises!

The staff is inefficient, and they add ""extra"" charges for almost everything from medicine ($0.50 per tablet per dose) to 15-min. of play times. You'd think those rates would include normal levels of TLC for Rover (not his real name). Basically these guys were a fallback for us, and I wouldn't leave our dogs there again.

We left our two dogs there for two nights over the weekend. When we showed up to check-in, the staff was impersonal. You cannot leave any bedding with your pets, except a towel or t-shirt. They say that bedding is provided, but they will not show the facilities. They conduct tours only twice a week and absolutely will not show the facility any other time. This leads me to believe they spruce up the place before a tour to give an ""ideal"" appearance. They will only give you a ""virtual tour"" via a DVD, but the DVD shows no bedding in the kennels. They claim the DVD is out-of-date, but again, will not give an impromptu tour. The dogs stayed in the same enclosure. When we arrived to pick them up, the people, again, were not friendly. They only know your pet by the kennel number, and they tell you your dog had a nice visit, only if you ask. There is no personal touch to this place at all. One came back sick and lethargic and looked like he had lost weight. They never mentioned any problems. They both smelled terrible and we had to wash them immediately when we got home. The website description and photos lead you to believe this is a great place, but I do not recommend anyone take their pets there. You also have to purchase playtimes for your dog, which we did. Our one dog came back so stressed and sick that we can't imagine anyone gave him any personal attention or they would have noticed and informed us. The only positive thing about this place is that they are open on the weekends and for late pick-ups on Sunday nights.

We were extremely pleased with the staff and facility of Hillrose Pet Resort. It was the first time we had to leave our little chihuahua, Lulu, and we left her there with confidence. Of course, she got to stay in the office and spent a lot of her time there cuddled up on the staff's lap! I really can't comment on the outdoors areas or the kennel areas. What we saw was very nice & clean. The staff was very friendly.
