The neighborhood here isn't all that fancy, but I'd say it's worth going out of your way for it you want the older grand-style Chinese restaurant. The dining area is larger than what the parking lot leads you to believe. So if the small parking lot in front is full, park in front of the closed business next door, which essentially could be the same parking lot. Please do not think the restaurant is over-crowded/full just because their own lot is full, so be sure to go in and check.Decor is old grand style, very busy with lots of stuff, including a large Buddha statue. Tabletops are glass over the old style Zodiac place mats over a tablecloth. They offer carry-out and dine-in, no buffet. Very large menu, with the "per person" group dinners, and entrees. Beer, wine, and liquor are served. There was at least one of those large round tables with the lazy-susan in the middle. The men's room didn't quite live up to the decor up front, but they were very busy, so I cut them some slack in the rating. Food is served on a serving plate, not the plate you eat off of, with large serving spoons, to facilitate sharing. Rice came in a separate covered stainless steel bowl. Portion size seemed large. The fried rice seemed Southern China/Cantonese/Hong Kong style.I had the black (sh!take) mushrooms and vegetables entree. It was served over a ring of thin orange slices. Delicious. I ate most of the orange slices. The vegetables were very fresh, and cooked with just the right amount of crispness left in them. The fortune cookie was also served with a couple of fresh orange slices.Hostess and waitress were very professional, efficient and quick. A couple of the waitresses were really cute. Soda and water glasses refilled at just the right times. Papa-san worked the dining room talking to customers, and helped bus tables.
They have a Chinese cuisine section on their menu, but I've only ordered Vietnamese food here.Excellent pho and bun dishes. The goi rolls and peanut sauce are great too. Friendly wait staff.Ambience is not quite as high end as some other Vietnamese restaurants, but I think the food and prices are as good and make this a worthwhile trip. This is the Vietnamese "go-to" place in NW Indy. It's the only Vietnamese restaurant in the NW quadrant (North of 46th Street, and West of Meridian.)If you're a fan of Vietnamese food, this place merits your patronage, and deserves to be busier. Please talk it up to your friends in NW Marion County if they like Asian cuisine.
This is a typical little "mom & pop" Chinese restaurant that is geared to the carry-out trade. You can eat in but be ready for warm and humid in the warm season and pretty utilitarian surrounding. Like I said, this is primarily a carry-out place. The food here is good and so are the prices. The lady who runs the register and handles the orders is VERY sweet and treats her customers well. If you're in the area and looking for decent Chinese for reasonable coin, you ought to stop in. The sweet and sour pork and bourbon chicken are two of my favorites here.
I just moved to the Old Northside area and Susan has delivered some of the best Chinese meals on the planet. Since I do not cook very well, Susan and her sister have been my source of good old fashion eating. If they were not on the JOB I would be starving. I am thanking Susan and sister for the great meals they have provided. The location and food are simply the best.Antonio Ivan Easterling sends his very best.(317)529-1599- T Mobile
I eat here quite often while working. Very professional and the girl who answers the phone is very sweet. She always knows my order before I give it. Delivery takes a while although no one else delivers in the area besides Jimmy Johns. I keep coming back for the customer service and delicious food. Thank you Peking.
Surprisingly good food for a "hole-in-the-wall" place!!! I'll take their food over several of the fancier and higher-priced restaurants on the ritzy North side. You'll find the staff friendly, the portions generous, and I can highly recommend both the dumplings (pot-stickers) and the Moo-Shu.
Ate here twice, not impressed. The best thing is the crab ragoon. It is really good! Everything was disappointing, the rice and entrees had mostly vegetables, barely any meat but the flavor was good. They are the only Chinese restaurant in the area that delivers that's why we chose it. Disappointed!!!
I literally have to force myself to drive by without stopping in for the crab rangoon,I do not know the name of the lady in the back preparing my food, but she is the best and im assuming her husband is the one in the kitchen,The Food is second to none,I am ao glad i have you in my life!!!❤
The food is a mouthful of tasty deliciousness even my 18 month old was enjoying (and she tends to be a bit picky).. My whole family is excited that we finally found a great place for our Chinese food fix, the prices are extremely reasonable and their Crab Rangoon's are AMAZING!!!!!
I received excellent customer service and the gentleman who was preparing the sushi for the sushi bar was extremely personable and kind and he made me a custom sushi dish that was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning tomorrow:)
