I responded to their ad in the LA Times with interest in selling a Kieth Haring print I have owned for almost 20 years. Andrew Morris indicated that he had clients that might be interested. He came to my home the next day to check out the condition of the print. We agreed on the commission should he sell the print and he took the print after we agreed on a reasonable price for the piece. Within two weeks, as he had promised, he call to tell me that he had sold the print at the high end of the agreed upon selling price. Five days later I received a check.Stuart Antiques, Andrew Morris, delivered on every level and I could not be more pleased. I'm writing this review because I had reviewed Yelp reviews before I met with Andrew, they were not good and I was reluctant to do business with Stewart. I'm glad I ignored the reviews and I trusted my property with Steward Antiques. Good decision!
I recently purchased an antique Louis Vuitton Damier trunk as a gift for my wife. I gave Randall Barbera a call at the beginning of March. Per his request, I sent him pictures of my trunk. He told me the trunk looked like it was in good shape and quoted me a price of $2,000-$2,500 for the “restoration.” I was told it that they would call me with updates during the process. After I sent my trunk, the updates never came. I followed up every couple weeks or so and received e-mails that they had not started yet but would reach out when they did. I finally heard from Lisa who stated they started “cleaning” my trunk (while working on 3 others) and that it would look fabulous when they were finished. We never had any conversations about the trunk or any particulars. She told me the truck looked “wonderful” When I did receive pictures, I was very upset because the trunk didn’t look restored at all. It merely looked like they cleaned it a bit. I was later told how the trunk was not in good condition (despite both he and Lisa telling me otherwise) and that thy worked two straight weeks, 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day on this trunk. This is while Lisa told me they were working on 3 trunks at the same time. At this point I have paid $2,500 for someone to clean my trunk, not the restoration I was promised. As you can imagine, I have been asking for some of my money back. At first they agreed to give me $500 back (it should be half), and after I agreed, they hit me with a non-disclosure agreement which would not allow me to leave this review. Obviously, I did not sign.
Actually I'm not sure how this business is. I'm just testing how YP works. This minimum character limit doesn't sound user-friendly though.
If you have an old house, this store is a fantastic resource for hardware. We replaced so many light switches and outlet covers with antique brass items from here. Not cheap, but worth it.
Dani and her team are great at finding you just what you need in this fantastic store. This is a high end resale store, so you can sell your quality, lightly used items to them (with an apt) and buy the next size up.
I purchased an item, online, from LA Vintage and despite me being in the UK, these guys were amazing. The customer service and support received through out the transaction was nothing short of perfection, at every opportunity Shepard (the sales person who was looking after my transaction) went the extra mile, including gift wrapping my order.I would have no hesitation purchasing from LA Vintage and wish every retail company was as helpful and supportive as LA Vintage.Big points for small business!
Great place to buy a casual shirt or dress with a cat print on it! The owner is super nice and friendly and always helpful!
i wish i would have read the review below before buying dresses from Bessie. i went in found some nice dresses and i thought it was a good deal. she told me to come back with measurements. i drove back to la a couple weeks later. i told her i was from out of town. i had all the measurements and she was pulling off dresses. i notices some looked so big for petite bridesmaids. i took them cause i had already driven 3 hours. She took my cash no purchase receipt and gave me a business card. i still needed 3 more dresses and she said i could exchange whatever didn't fit. She said" if you find you need to change these sizes listed call me asap" i left and among all the bridesmaids none of them fit but with swapping among them i was only left with 1 that did not fit. i tried calling her cause at this point i knew exactly what sizes i needed and she never answered for 2 weeks called and it just rang. im pretty sure the number is fake. i finally arrived a ccouple weeks later. she knew it would be later due to being out of town and when i walked in she said "you never came so i dont have the dresses" i guess she sold them!! i said 'what do you mean? i just drove 3 hours for these dresses, they are for a wedding" i told her "i have been calling you and no answer is this even a real number" she said "oh i can order them" i responded you told me that last time and look no dresses. she picked up the phone and called another shop that had dresses and she left with my sizes and my money. when she came back she handed them to me in a white bag and i left. i kept my exchange for fear that i would get something even more ill fitting. The previous dresses were in 14.16.18 and now these would be L,XL etc i didn't want to risk not having dresses at all so i was willing to take them. She locked up and came back with the dresses and i left the store. When i opened the bag i realized the dresses were all oversized. a triple x for size 12 . i was so done with her and any situation would lead me back to square 1 so i left with the dresses. The bridesmaids will have to have 5 inches altered. i went there to save them money but now they will not be saving. Had i know better i would have gone to a local store. Bessie is a liar and a thief.....beware!!!
Nice place to shop for clothes, but not satisfied with the variety of clothes sizes. Window say from 1x to 3x but does not have a wide variety of those sizes, store does not accept refunds or as well for exchanges which I was not happy about it now I'm stuck with 2 blouses that I will not be wearing at all. sorry JacKies closet I will not be shopping there soon.
This is the worst store!!!!! THEY ARE NOT TRUST WORTHY! I needed 3 dresses and BESSY said we can order from the catalog. SHE SAID NO PROBLEM! I told her what dress we wanted and she ordered it for us. She said she could only take cash for the order (fishy) but we trusted her. When we came back to pick it up next Sunday..THE STORE IS CLOSE. Needed to go back the following week. When we got there to pick up the dress it was already in white plastic bag ready to go. She opened it and showed the color and the size. And because we trusted her, we took the dress. When we got home, we found out it was not the WRONG dress and one of the dress was the wrong size. But she won't take the blame did not help us. We got stuck with the dress that are ugly and she would not help us. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. THEY ARE OVER PRICE TOO!!!!!
