Dean M.

I recently (May 2017) went to Scotts Valley Pipe to buy materials for a small leach-line repair. Then needing a bit more material the next day, I went to Scarborough Home Center. Of the five items common to both receipts, Scotts Valley Pipe had a higher price on all five. A ten-foot length of perforated sewer pipe at Scotts Valley Pipe cost $17.90. At Scarborough the same pipe cost $8.49—less than half the price. My original purchase of nearly $150 at Scotts Valley Pipe would have cost at least $30 less had I made the purchase at Scarborough—or likely anywhere else in the county.

The prices at Scotts Valley Pipe were so high that I was certain that a mistake had been made. When I returned and asked a clerk at Scotts Valley Pipe to check my receipt, he admitted that the prices at Scott Valley Pipe were often very high. He then checked my receipt and told me that the prices were correct. Scotts Valley Pipe does charge double what Scarborough Home Center does for ten feet of plastic pipe. So buyer be aware—at least on the more costly items.
