The salesman was great but the service post sale has been a nightmare!!! I had rental furniture until a week ago but had purchased a new living room set at Gibson Savannah a little over a month ago. I put it in layaway until I was ready for its delivery after the rental furniture had been removed. Last week I took it out of layaway and financed the balance and told them I was ready for delivery as I had family flying in 2 days before the Thanksgiving (Tuesday). I was told at the time of the purchase that it was already in the warehouse. I was actually told a lot of things and the story changed from person to person depending on who I talked to that particular day. So, here I am, a week later in an empty living room with no furniture and a delivery set for 10 - 12 on Tuesday...same time I'm to pick my Thanksgiving company up from the airport! I was told the furniture had been back ordered and I would get the display so I would at least have furniture. That was their way of making it right! So at the last minute before my company arrives, my whole schedule is screwed up!!! Don't walk away from this store...run!!!

I recently made a purchase for furniture from this store. The salesman was great and made the purchase smooth. However, the post sale has been a horrible experience. I scheduled my furniture to be delivered and was informed it will take 7-10 business days. On the day of the delivery and prior to the delivery I was informed my dresser was damaged in transit and will need to be re-ordered. I received a partial order. I waited a total of 3 weeks from the time of the initial order and a receive a call on 11/9/16 to schedule the next the delivery on 11/10/16 for the dresser. On the day of the deliver I called the store within 45 minutes the close of the window to get a ETA and was advised it was put on hold because there was $10 balance. I advised I was not advised of a balance and when the deliver fee was collected I was not advised. I requested to speak with a manager. I advised the manager of the delay of my merchandise and lack of communication regarding any balance to prevent any further day. I advised if there was a balance then I would not a have received a partial delivery. The manager was rude and unprofessional. He stated he was "doing me a favor" by allowing a partial delivery. He also stated it's not "his" fault the dresser was damaged. If this company expect to fully prosper as a business there needs to be training in customer service skills professionalism. I will not recommend this company to anyone.
My husband and I been running around Savannah to find good priced living room furniture for a friend who lost most everything in a house flood here in Beaufort SC. She spend the night at her daughters, and did not notice the commode was still running. So the septic tank overflowed, and it all backed up in her house. Rooms to go did not want to help us, nor Haverty's, or that furniture place with the big " flag " in front, and 1000 truck loads come every week, lololol! Our last place to look was " Gibson"s Home Store. Mr. Gibbs was very friendly, and willing to help us. He let us have a sofa and love seat and with almost $100.00 less then what it would have been. What a nice man, that was a big help for us. Now we can help our friend and surprise her with that set, so she has something to sit on!!Thanks Mr. Gibson from GIBSON'S HOME STORE FURNITURE &MATTRESS
Shady business! When I complained about a tear on my sofa, Robert would not return my phone call, insisted that it was not damaged by his guys because he has known them for years, and that because I moved the sofa 2 feet, I must have caused the damage. Not worth the hassle, not a warm welcome to moving to this state. Find another respected company, ask around!
Great customer service and prices. No pressure sales team.
