Had four new tires mounted on 350Z. I thought they would know the wheels and tires in the back are bigger than the ones in the front. I don't know how they did this but they mounted one of the front tires on the rear wheels. After i took it back to get corrected i stood and watched them as they tried to mount that tire on the front of the car. They couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fit. I finally had to tell them they need to dismount the two tires they had on the wrong wheels and put the smaller tire on the 8" wheel in the front and the larger tire on the 8.5" wheel in the rear. I'll never ever go back and advise you and others not to.
Super upset at this facility, Was referred to this company by a Fleet company and what a mistake this was... This place charges a $60.00 Diagnosis FEE and does not know how to diagnose at all. Poor Response: Took the vehicle in for Uneven wear on the front tires of my 2008 Dodge Ram and for a shaking coming from the front end. There Solution..........
1. You need NEW SHOCKS... $435.00 later Problem still exists. Took it back 5 minutes later and Head Mechanic ( Nate checks it and says I need a new Wheel Hub Bearing Assembly ).
2. New Wheel Hub Assembly installed $420.00 later Problem still Exists. Head Mechanic ( Nate Checks it and determines I need NEW TIRES Estimated cost $185.00 Each. Frustrated with how they just throw parts at it instead of actually DIAGNOSING IT I leave... Got to Harrison's in Richmond Hill explain to them everything that has just happened and They state " We appreciate everything you just told us but lest us do a FREE DIAGNOSES on our own and we will tell you what is wrong..... After 15 minutes they take me into there bay and SHOW me that my front wheels would not turn and that my calibers were NOT RETRACTING and that the heat was so intense it warped the Rotors... I Told them how much and what all do I need....
2 new Rotors
2 New Calibers and all fluids Replacement for the breaks total cost???!!! $518.00 Great HONEST PEOPLE who do a FREE DIAGNOSES needless to say my buddy that referred me to RPM says they are not going to use them anymore and that they don't need guessing games on there Fleet! RPM you really should be ashamed of your self. All I asked for back was the $60.00 Diagnoses Fee Simply Because you made me Spend money on Shocks and a Wheel Bearing Hub that was not Needed. Shame on you...
Relatively new to Savannah, and have been looking for a good shop to take my vehicles to. Word of mouth pointed me towards RPM, and my experience today sealed the deal. I will not be going anywhere else.
Full disclosure... I'm a guy that tries to do whatever he can on his own cars, but sometimes going to a place with things like lifts, air tools, and the like is better than busting my own knuckles in the driveway. I'm quite mechanically oriented, which helps when selecting and using a shop for jobs I can't (or don't want to) do myself.
To start... Everything in RPM's facility is CLEAN! The waiting area is spotless with free soda and coffee, and there is a huge window overlooking the service bay that didn't have a single fingerprint on it. Nice furniture, TONS of magazines, and there's a couple places (Zaxby's, BK and McDs, and a few others) within walking distance for grub if you're waiting for your car.
Jason, the service advisor, was more than accommodating. I came in on a budget to have work done on a car that I am selling, and was more than willing to allow me to source parts from a local Advance Auto, as there was a significant cost difference between them and his supplier (they recommended I do this, as they don't have the ability to buy retail parts, yet realized it'd save me $). Grabbed the parts myself, and they were more than happy to put them in.
Nate, the tech that worked on my car, was awesome! He took me out to the service bay and showed me exactly what was wrong with my car. He was understanding about letting me leave with the car briefly to save $100 out of pocket on parts, and jumped right back on it when I returned. He was on point, cordial, and professional.
The best thing? The "book time" for my job (subframe bushings on a Chrysler Concorde) was 2.5 hours. I was quoted around $225 in labor for the job. That said, Nate finished the job in around half the time (including having to use a torch to undo a rusty bolt), and at a total cost of $125. Amazing!
I've been to a LOT of shops over the years, and have never seen this standard of service. To put it simply, I'm blown away. As a car guy myself, THIS is how to run a shop.
Don't fear coming here... They'll do you right.
My daughter has been to this place 4 times in the past 2 months. The first time was becuase the cooling fans needed to be replaced. that was over $1300. Her car starts to over heat and takes it back. They replaced the water temp sensor for just over $200. A few weeks go by and it starts overheating again, she takes it back and they replace the thermostat assembly. THat was $350.00. That was a few weeks ago. Today she was going to school and heard a big pop, The car started overheating and the temperature went up to 280 degrees. I call the Rick, the owner, and he tells me yeah a hose probably blew. She is going to have to get it towed here and it shoudl not be more than a few hundred dollars. HELLO I am in Utah, she is in Savannah GA this is not acceptable. I am at a loss here. Any help would be really appreciated.
I stopped at this business as I needed an oil change and was lea ing on trip in am.
Friendly, clean facility, but over $90 for an oil change and filter (synthetic)! My fault should have asked first. Won't be back!
