This is an expensive restauran...

This is an expensive restaurant, but we really felt it met the mark for a restaurant that provides a top-notch experience in every way. It is in a beautiful historic building with authentic period antiques. If you haven't heard about it on a tour, ask the maitre d' or server about the place, and they'll fill you in! Every dish we ordered was exquisitely prepared and served, and quite tasty and creative. Servers were friendly and attentive.

You can't ask for more

After reading mixed reviews, we took the recommendation of a tour guide.
Superb in every aspect. We ate in the Pub downstairs. Note there are 11 dining areas in the house. The pub is intimate cozy, low ceilings, candle lite tables, and a small bar.
Our hostess seated us immediately, our server PAUL was a true master of cocktails, the entire menu to include deserts. His recommendations were on the mark. I had pork tenderloin, cooked to perfection, my wife scallops both entrees were perfectly presented PAUL made our dinning experience a memorable one. A bonus was a after dinner tour of the entire house by CANDICE. Knowledgable, enthusiastic, and a superb guide who did more than just go through the motions.
A superior dinning experience, you will not be disappointed.

Horrible Experience!

We were seated immediately in the ballroom and everything seemed to be okay until several large groups of rowdy St. Patrick's Day revelers were seated in the ballroom with several other small tables. Our waiter was reassigned to a large table and must have lost our order for two steaks. An hour and a half later we were still waiting on our meal when the other waiters kept coming to ask us why we weren't eating!!! When we finally got our meals the steaks were bleeding even after sending them back . In the meantime, the restaurant continued serving wine to already drunken patrons who were screaming curse words and unsavory tales for my 78 year old mother to enjoy. We were horrified by the whole experience. What happened to Savannah's famous Southern Hospitality??? Does the Olde Pink really just want to cater to drunken tourists? Judging by our experience they must.

a must while in savannah

We were told by several people in Savannah that the Pink House was a good place to dine. The food was wonderful-try the sweet potato, collard greens and their signature dish, the apricot glazed flounder. The biscuits are also delicious. Wait staff very knowledgable about menu. The downstairs piano lounge is nice for a casual meal or drinks. Pink House is a definite must while in Savannah.

This food is so amazing it would make a tadpole slap a whale

We were welcomed in by several hosts/hostesses at the Pink House who made us feel like honored guests though we felt we were dressed too casually for the place (from sightseeing all day) and almost didn't come in. But they encouraged us to stay. They only had ONE table open when we came and we were the blessed ones to get it.

Although they were busy - every table filled - we had excellent service and the food came out in a very timely fashion for them having that many diners at the time.

The biscuits - OH MY. So good. The butter is even amazing in and of itself .

I am originally from Baltimore and particular about how my seafood is prepared - particularly crab soup or crabcakes. I was hoping the seafood would be up to standard and let me tell you the she crab soup was some of the best I've EVER had in my life! The crabcakes? Amazing. Those who were with me on this evening had the pork chops, fried green tomatoes, mac & cheese, cheese grits, and ALL of it was simply amazing.

The atmosphere is just beautiful and the lady who comes and sings at each table is just delightful.

A friend had recommended The Old Pink House to us, having eaten there a month earlier and so we decided to try it upon our visit. We're so glad we did.

Do yourself a favor and dine there on your next visit to Savannah.

Rare but True a great review

My first trip to Savannah and my birthday. I wanted to have my first dinner in Savannah at The Lady and Sons but when I got there they said they couldn't serve anymore that day at 5 p.m. already at capacity. Too commercialize for a buffet dinner place. So I chose the Pink House restaurant because I read good reviews online. Turned out to be a much better place after all I did not have a reservation so the hostess tried to seat me downstairs in the basement. I said no I want to go back to the front desk and make a reservation . So then I was seated in the restaurant. Nice after that everything went very well my husband and I had a lovely meal very tasty and everybody in the place was so friendly. The lady who sings there even sang Happy Birthday to me.

Nice food. Lacking on wine menu.

I have lived in Savannah for 2 years now. I eat out often, and try a variety of restaurants. For some reason, I managed to over look the Pink House; even after hearing about the great food.

My boyfriend made the reservation for our anniversary dinner. When he called, he let them know it was a special occasion and that we would like a nice quiet table (something romantic). In arriving, we admired the outside beauty and its historic charm. We checked in at the host stand. The host, herself appeared casual in her attire, not really fitting in with the atmosphere. We were seated immediately upon arrival and taken to a small table in the first room to the right of the host/front door. The lighting was bright and there sat a table of 4-5 women who carried on conversation as if we were all interested in hearing it. Our table set right next to the waiter station. I was a bit irritated at the fact that they ignored our request for a nicer table. I noticed that the restaurant was not filled and there was better seating. Just in front of me, there was another room with a different theme. The lights were dim and there was a fire place. I wanted to ask to move to the other room when out server arrived but my boyfriend didn't want to be ""those"" people. I did, however ask her to dim the lights a bit.

We browsed over the menu for a while. They had a nice variety of entrees with a southern twist. After our server went over the specials, we placed out order. I had the trout. Daniel (bf) had the duck. They were served with grits and collard greens. We also ordered some wine. We enjoyed both entrees greatly. However, the wine list was limited. I have seen better wine menus around the area.

The portions were enough to fill us up leaving no room for dessert. Despite the terrible seating arrangement we got stuck with, we had an overall good dinner. The service and food made up for it. :)
