I went to the Sarasota location to replace my MacBook Pro battery. I called ahead of time to see if they had the battery in stock and they said yes. I could just drop by and it would take half an hour. I went there the same day and they ran a diagnostic and then went to look for the battery. The battery was actually not in stock and I had to wait more than a week for it to come in (they told me early next week but it came in later in the week). They said they would call me but they took down the wrong phone number (they should have made sure they had the correct number if they knew they had to call me). When I did get the battery replaced, the OS would not load. I called the store and left a message and called several times afterward. I ended fixing the issue myself but I still never received a callback.
Fooled by the good reviews online (probably all fake), I decided to contact this company to fix my Mac. On the phone they sounded promising, I explained the problem and they said they could be able to fix it in one hour and that the technician would come around 11.Technician came at 2, making me late for work, he checked the computer, said that maybe it was a virus but he didn't know for sure. And without fixing anything and refusing to help save the data, he proceeded to charge $71 for "diagnosis" (what diagnosis? If he didn't even know what was the problem).I dealt with other computer companies in the past with no problems at all, you need a service and they deliver, but this company operates a fraud scheme. To start with, nobody warned me on the phone that on top of charging $75 per hour, they also charge $71 just for looking at your computer and say that they have no idea. I never seen anything like this in my life. This company is a total rip off!If you need serious, professional service, please avoid this company like the plague, I can't believe they can get away with this. They scammed me, fixed nothing and I still don't even know what is the problem with the computer. As a business owner myself I am ashamed to see people operating business like this:dishonest, fraudulent and deceptive company. If I don't deliver a service or if the customer is not happy 100% I don't charge them. But I was raised with honor and values and I don't like scamming people.I was left today absolutely disappointed and disgusted with this company, I would never use them again and I will make sure to tell everybody to take their business elsewhere.
Spectacular Computer Repair is DEFINITELY INCOMPETENT & may be dishonest. Wayne offered to evaluate my laptop for $75 at my home. He required my signature on a contract before he would look at my laptop. Problems were identified with the internal Event Log. HE DID NOT CHECK THE RAM OR HARD DRIVE. He charged $295 which included replacing Kaspersky anti-virus software with Malwarebytes. When he returned the laptop. I opened a Word document and immediately the laptop crashed due to a memory error. THIS DEFINITELY CONFIRMS THAT WAYNE DID NOT CHECK RAM OR THE HARD-DRIVE AT HIS SHOP. He charged me $40 to call Lenovo. The memory was installed by a Lenovo dealer in Tampa in 5 minutes. They reviewed Wayne’s evaluation and said that the problems were all fixable on site, some were not problems, the $335 charge was outrageous, and replacing Kaspersky with Malwarebytes was wrong as it is not antivirus software. Shortly after I disputed the $335 charged my email address book was hacked.
