I had two bathroom countertops done by Jamestown and the company was inept, incompetent, uncooperative, and at times downright belligerent and mean (particularly the owner who at the end was nasty, angry, and threatening). According to the owner, the “customer experience” does not matter – he doesn’t care if it is unpleasant – all that matters in the end is that the contract was completed. The workers on site tried but seemed badly trained and badly directed. Follow-up to management was difficult and at times very frustrating. They came to install on the 30th of January and that’s when the problems appeared. The demolition guy left the sinks lying on the curb rather than taking it away - and claimed someone would come to get it. The one granite countertop was drilled for the tap so that the hole was so off-center the plumber refused to install the tap. The other soapstone. It was clear the installers had never done soapstone before and so used silicone that left dark areas. The prefabricators had treated some of the soapstone backsplash pieces like granite and so they were marred. When we tried to call we got out of order messages. No response to email for days. I sent photos of the problems. They sent back the installers who claimed the hole was in the center and tried to show this by manipulating the tape measure and square. James, the boss, tried to pass the buck to the fabricators but eventually agreed to replace the granite. They agreed to rebuff the soapstone. Two weeks later James called in an angry manner and demanded payment and accused us of neglect for not calling in to offer payment. When I tried to suggest that the experience had been so inconvenient that he might give us a 5% discount he maintained that the customer experience during a job was irrelevant and all that mattered was whether the contract was completed. He threatened to hand this to collection agency and then hung up on me. I strongly recommend NO ONE use this company.

Jeff Earlin the last weekI used this company for counter tops (soap stone) for our newly build dream home, BIG MISTAKE!!!!! They have a nice show room and they treat you so nice in the begaining, soon as they get your deposit it goes down hill fast. The guys they sent out to install the top are people you never leave alone in your house.. They damaged my islands as they where installing the tops, both of our island are currently supported with 2x4s, the large island counter top broke down the center. I have been without our kitchen since Dec 2016. During the install the two guys almost got in a fight with each other, my kids where in the other room and scared to death. There insurance company says they don't have coverage for damage that occurs during installation, WHAT!!!!!!There are many great kitchen companies around, don't get your self in a mess like this, this company is terrible. We will fill a lawsuit against them.
Best Customer Service! I had some issues with an installer and Falfas Cabinets did everything to make it right. Cabinets were reasonably priced and beautiful.
We had no trouble with Jamestown kitchens. Contract was signed and work was started in a few weeks. Only took two days to complete and everything was done. Worker was professional and did a fine job. I would use this company again and refer them to others.
Worst company EVER. Misrepresentation, lies, delays, excuses....you name it, they do it. Showing up an average of 2, maybe 2 1/2 days per week to work, if you were lucky. Excuses about delays in orders, scheduling is ridiculous and you never knew who was actually going to show up or if they were going to show up. Rude management who were bullies if you caught them in lies. RUN, don't walk away from this company.
Wonderful. Courtesy, great workers, You are lucky to have them work for you.
Once he has your money he will not return your calls. Makes promises that he doesn't keep. Workmanship is deplorable. Buyer beware!
I WAITED 6 MOS TO WRITE THIS BUT COULDNOT OR WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. THE PRODUCT IS JUST "OK" , AND THE OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS THEY HIRE ARE FAIRLY PROFESSIONAL BUT DEALING WITH JAMES AND ALL OF THE EXCUSES AND DELAYS WAS AN 8 MONTH NIGHTMARE. QUITE OPPOSITE WAS THE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT OF PAT MARLOWFROM FLOORING AMERICA,
would not use this company . poor performance, customer service and delay in completion of job.
