Urth Cafe has an interesting menu, so my wife and I wanted to give it a try. As we queued up to order, we were admiring the baked goods. On the counter they had a falafel plate...no price and I ordered it. They give us a number so the server can bring it to our table. We scan the room...no open tables. A worker shows us to a table outside that was on an incline....are you kidding me? How can you eat your meal with plates sliding off the table. Strike 1.We finally found a normal table and waited a very long time for the food. Ok..it is Sunday and it's crowded...still strike 2.The food finally arrives. My platter has 4 small falafel balls, a tiny pita bread and very bland hummus. I will say the side salad was good. However, the price was $16.95 + tax + tip. That was shameful. I know rents are high on Main Street, but I paid for a full lunch and got a half lunch. Strike 3.
Any one who gives a bad review is selfish. You have no consideration for the staff who depend on tips as compensation. How would you like it if someone came to your house and refused to leave. This is not only annoying but it is unethical. People with good morals and principles understand it is not right to take advantage of the situation and horde a table at a coffee shop and set up your office especially without buying anything. How dare you. Everything within reason. Moderation. People like you will ruin it for everyone else who has ethical standards. Pretty soon there will be rules outlined on the front door of every place you go. Do not think you will get away with it for very long. Go to a library hotel room if you want to get away from your residence. Do not take it out on the guy who work at the coffee shop.
Close to my weekend job so I go here. Line always long and things take a while. Parking ok, lots of homeless people to contend with in parking lot.
Good place with good coffee closer to beach..!
Not a super expansive menu but what is on there is delicious! I especially love the wine selection. It can get really busy but I love a slow, easy Sunday afternoon here.
I will certainly go back in here if I have the chance. They have the best tea in the city that is why they deserve better patronage than other tea houses in the city.
My friends took me here last Sunday and it was the best part of the day for me. I never had a cup of coffee that has the taste of a golden summer sky.
I prefer this location to the other 2. Parking is easy since it's located in the Brentwood Country Mart & they have a lot of outdoor seating unlike the other 2 locations that just have a bench outside. Also the people that work at this location are a lot nicer & less pretentious than the other locationsCaffe Luxxe serves smooth espresso with no bitter afterfinish. They have a great selection, one of my favorites being a Gibraltar which probably is best described as somewhere between a cappuccino and a macchiato. The Shakerato is also a great iced drink for the summer. I love how it's a touch of mocha flavor which doesn't make it overwhelming sweet & it's shaken, so no leftover icecubes to water down your drink. The pastry selection is ok. Their croissants are not worth those extra pounds. Also no wi-fi here which some people may find annoying but you can definitely appreciate. Luxxe is a place to come have a great espresso drink/coffee and catch up with a friend and people watch.
Love this place. Great food, ambiance and service. The menu is limited though..
