Worst hair cut I've ever had. The stylist/owner had no idea how my hair works. She cut it too short so it looks very cave-womany and layered it all funky. Then she was pushy about me rebooking an appointment for a follow-up trim months later and fed me a guilt trip about how the economy has really affected her income. I went there based on the reviews on this page and should've shopped around more in the area considering there are a lot of hair salons. It's a good thing I'm fairly low maintenance when it comes to hair but I cannot seem to get stoked on this cut. now it has years for it to grow out. ugh!

Lisa is my new fav hairstylist!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had been to lather a year ago and it was good but i recently went back and noticed the salon was decorated different and had a whole different vibe Lisa was with a client but asked me to wait a few minutes and gave me some mags to look at then ont the fly asked me what she could do for me she was really friendly and asked alot of questions she trimmed my hair gave me great face framing layers and actually had time to color my hair too. I was nervous about change and she sold me on a cool glaze for my hair!!!!!!!!!!!ilove it!!!!!!!!!!!! it is so shiny. My daughter went to see her and lisa gave her a whole new cut. I highly reccomend her.

Ok so I'm new to the area.. and I've been searching for a great salon to go to since I'm going to be going to school here for the next four years.. anyway.. I called in looking for a color specialist got in on a Sunday, which is great. NO salons are open on Sundays. Well Sierra helped me find some pictures of the hair cut and color that I wanted ... She matched it perfectly with a few tweaks it was amazing.. The most perfect Hi lites no bright yellowish orange streaks, beautiful light blonde hilights She added some beautiful honey color hilights, PERFECT... Then after getting my hair styled I felt like I just walked out a Salon in Hollywood... Great price.. Super sweet friendly staff... AND AMAZING HAIR!!! Yeah I'm soo happy I didnt have to search to hard to find a great place. Me and all my friends from school are going to be going to Lather from here on out.. Thanks again Sierra!! See you in 8 Weeks

I am so happy!!! I've never been happy with any other hairstylists work, until I found Tara at Lather. She is the sweetest thing ever and she does an amazing job on long hair. I have recommended her to all the girls I know and now my whole work goes to her and we are all thrilled with our hair!!! She takes her time and pays attention to detail. She is incredibly thorough and doesn't skimp like other hairdressers do with the highlights. She does absolutely perfect highlights and beautiful layers and styling. When I walk out of there, my hair looks perfectly polished and like I just stepped out of a salon, unlike so many other hairdressers who I've gone to in this town who have you walk out with your hair looking all ratty and ugly after you've just spent a fortune on it. Lather is A LOT smaller now than it used to be and the building is a little funky, but honestly I don't really care about how the salon looks, I care about how my hair looks when I walk out of it, and it always looks amazing! Tara also has respect for long hair. As myself and all of my co-workers have experienced, if you ask her to take off 1/2 an inch, she takes off 1/2 an inch, unlike all the other hairstylists I've been to before her who say, ""ok, I'll take off 1/2 an inch"", as they proceed to take off 6 inches. I've finally found my long hair specialist and I'm not going anywhere else. I recommend her to anyone who wants amazingly beautiful long hair. She also has very reasonable rated compared to a lot of the others I've been to who charge way more than her for very crummy work.

I have naturally curly hair so it has been really difficult to find a stylist that could really create a style that is professional but yet fun. Tara, the stylist I had my appointment with listened to my concerns and assured me that she would cut and style my hair that would be manageable and flattering. (I have a very hectic schedule) Tara did just that! I just love my new cut and style! I?m going back for a hair coloring! I recommend Tara ? you can?t go wrong!!!! I just love this place! Thanks Tara-See you soon for my hair coloring! Oh and thanks for working around my schedule! Great customer service! I highly recommend this salon.

My friend and i recently went to lather and we both a actually loved our hair cut !!! Lisa was very open to hearing what I was saying but suggested a completley different look and it did look better for my face shape. My friend was thrilled with her results from her stylist also, everyone was laughing and having aq good time, grat vibe to be in. I felt like I was at a friends house with girl time. Very casual and comfy.
It is small and intimate without all the wanna be glam snotty feel I get from other shops. I surf and my hair was dry and my stylist did a moisture treatment on my hair to bring out the cut. its been a while since someone cared so much of what I thought . im a student and budgeting so she sent me home with samples(thanks again) . I will tell all my friend s... lather way cool man
I have to admit the salon was kitchy and atypically small but it felt homey, not overwhelming and pretentious!! the atmosphere was fun and light i loved my stylist she suggested a pale pink in my hair with some layers and changed my look completely yet kept true to my needs it was hard to see its behind Fu Tatoo and coffeetopia

I have been to a bunch of shops around town and have had bad color, awful cut, stuffy environment . I went to lather and had them fix the old screwed job from another salon. The gals there were friendly and the shop is funky and kitchy . I love my haricut and was offered chocolate and wine YUMMIE!!!!! I have found my new favorite salon The owner sierra is a doll and I have booked with Lisa again next month !!!

I have gotten my hair done at numerous salons and I could never find anyone who understood what I wanted they would always do what they believed looked good. For the first time I have found a salon where I feel comfertable and confident the sylist will do what they're asked to do. Lathers new location is smaller then the old place on seabright , but it is really cozy and inviting. The staff was really nice and hospitable. I recomended this salon to all of my friends, and I recomend it to anyone looking for a good salon. Great color, cuts and styling everytime I've been.

I have been to many Salons in the last 25 years and this was by far the worst hair experience I have ever had!! The person was late to start, that I can forgive for a great hairdresser, if they are indeed great. The environment is kind of white trashy. It is small and tackily decorated, it seems like a whole in the wall with a coat of color to make it look new.
The hairdresser I had was unorganized and intense. My hair came out alright, the color looks good but I didn't get a hair cut cuz we ran out of time and I just didn't want to be in that building any longer. My hair was not shampooed properly leaving it stiff and sticky. I had to go home and re-wash my hair that still had color in it.
I am surprised that Lather hasn't tried to better their look; I went to the original Lather when it first opened and the environment was retro, fun, exciting, full of life- this new shop is dark, dank, miserable and uncomfortable. My search for a new hair dresser continues.

This was the worst haircut experience of my life, next to that one disaster at Supercuts. I paid about $45 to have this young punk ""aspiring DJ"" guy cut my hair, and he answered his cell no less than five times while he was working with me. I don't think my cut was worth that, but more importantly, it certainly was not worth it to be sitting there feeling anxious about having my hair cut by someone who seemed to be paying VERY little attention to me! Uhg. I would never go back there, and I'm kind of surprised it's still around (that was 3 years ago).
