DON'T bother going if your a Senior, they treat you like you're invisible! We will never return to the Harbor Cafe! We waited for over three hours, then our food was cold. When we told the waiter that all the tables around us were severed before us he actually told us that when he put in our order it was time for the entire kitchen staff's break. Which, MAY explain the 45 minute delay, but wouldn't it be hot? Although, we sat next to the hostess desk, she said, she could not find us. This was after we check-in with her three times. It is clear the the front has poor or no management. The floor manager is to busy with her own tips (aka tables) to manage anything. The owner could pay for someone to supervise the front of the house and properly train a hostess. But that would mean less profits. The worst dining experience my five friends have ever had. That's really bad since I was in the restaurant business for forty years. BTW 25% tippers. We wasted half the day. Carmel,CA
Best seafood restaurant in Santa Cruz county....everything fresh. Not just seafood Poultry and pastas..great service. Very reasonable prices...great…
Overall, the ambiance is very nice for a local place. The servers are exceptional and drinks are well made. We went in for their Prime rib special but and it was ok. The mashed potatoes were sticky and my Prime Rib requested medium rare came well done. The vegetables were "al dente" and tasty. I can deal with sending the PRib back but the mashed potatoes should be replaced with baked potato. I will say that their Ahi Tuna salad is the bomb!! I will go back because I am loyal to local businesses.
Not sure what's happened over the years, but the last few times, the fish and shrimp dishes were dry. My husband and I have been coming here since the early 1990s and some of the reasons we return is the location, staff, prices and the awesome gelato at the end. Great for families, our girls have always loved their dishes.
I was surprised to read some poor reviews, considering we've been going to this place for years. It's only open until 2pm, and jam packed, especially on weekends. Expect to wait and be patient - there is free coffee (and sometimes hot cocoa for your kids if you're friendly) and when staffed, the outdoor bar serves up mimosas, bloody marys and the coveted breakfast beer. Food is great, expect generous portions and there's always a special. Menu is broad, includes fresh ingredients and the staff clearly has a good time. Our family loves the brunch.
They food was "ok", but the bartender was not very attentive. I don't think that i'll go back again.
terrible---------they truely don't have a clue! all 4 meals weny back!!!!!
