I have been a member since it opened and I have a completely different experience than the other postings. What I like is the friendliness of the staff. They always greet me with a HI and a smile. The place is really clean and the machines work and are maintained. I see a guy go through every day with a clipboard checking them all. I use the pool and take a Aqua Fit fit class. Good instructors and I get a great workout that is easy on the joints but great cardio. A couple of years ago I asked a manager if they could install a couple of row machines. I told them they are great for older people who don't want joint strain and want cardio. She said she would work on it and 6 months later two very nice row machines arrived. I see older people using these machines along with me every time I am in. The showers are clean and the locker rooms also. And when I leave the staff always says, "thank you for coming. Have a great day." I recently changed my membership to "Silver Sneakers" and they gave me a free trainer for an hour. And my membership transferred without a any problems. So any complaints I have, well, I have one. The music in the locker room is jazz which I don't like but obviously the owner likes it or maybe studies have shown that people don't hang around to listen to it.
I would recommend this place to everyone. Beautiful office, great Physical Therapists. They really made a difference for me.
Ok heres the news on GOLDS GYM IN SANTA ANA...... the place is good but costumer service is really bad, Travis Baca (manager) needs more training, i call everyday and they say he would call me back and he doesn't. I got my membership back in september with the promises of having 100% money back if i didn't like it well my fiance went and canceled his membership and they canceled mine too, i went to work out everyday until one day in april the girls at the front desk told me my membership has been canceled, so i talked to Travis he told me i need to pay an activation fee since it was canceled (which was a mistake he did) i said no and he said "fine you can pay for the two months you been using the gym and your account will be reactivated" did i mention he said it will have to be cash so the next day i went ahead and give him $55, he promised that my fiance will get his refund in 10 days, while again i start going everyday, So at the beging of june i went to cancel my membership and ask why my fiance has not got his refund and the girl told me my membership has been canceled since february!! really then why haven't we got any of our money back? i also told her i paied two months full in cash two months prior and of course it didn't show it in the computer! wow Travis that day told me he will call me back the next day and let me know when i will get both refunds, well he didn't call i had to call him back two days after to ask and he said i will get it with in ten days. Guess what people that was 4 weeks ago and still no money!!!!! i finally call him friday and he was busy, monday and he was busy but he will call me back, today is tuesday i talk to him and he tells me that it is our bank account with the problem!! really he couldn't tell me this 4 months ago so i can handle it!! wow really really bad costumer service oh and he openly trashed his employees in front of me. What a great manager!!!! And still by the time i post this the refund has not been posted in our account nor does he call me back!!!!!!!
This is by far the worst gym you can sign up for. Management is horrible, and there staff is rude. Especially the group of 10 girls that are always huddled in the front. I regret signing up, and I only have less than a week attending this gym. Overall, the gym is good to workout but they fail in customer service and being customer-oreinted. How you treat customers is an important factor for a successful business, and obviously Gold's Gym has failed to maintain a professional and efficient staff group. After a confrontation with the sales manager about how I wasn't abiding by their policies in the pool, I knew Gold's wasn't for me. Instead of being polite and pointing out my mistake, I was put a "warning" on my membership without no explanation in why this came to be. Quickly, the sales manager asked for my membership and ran to his computer, for a minute I was confused about what was going on, and he explained to me 10 minutes later about my violation. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! - Sales Manager: Travis Barker
