Top shelf!

We've been going to traders every year when we have our vacation on the island. We wouldn't dream of. Ming and ot having one special dinner here. The place is clean, staff friendly and efficient, food fabulous. A little pricey but youngest what you pay for, we LOVE it!!!

Lucky find on Sanibel Island

On a recent trip through Ft. Meyers, my fiance and I decided to take a trip over to Sanibel Island. Having never been there before and no map we drove around the island, checked out the beaches etc...... On our way out we passed Traders and thought we'd give it a shot. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly suprised when we walked in. We were warmly greeted and the place had a local, island casual grill feel. The menu, not suprisingly, was heavy on seafood and very broad. The crab cakes(loved the corn relish) and seafood gumbo were fresh and a great starter. We shared the tilapia with spinach risoto and were very pleased. The wine list was not deep, however, all the bases were covered and had a few out of the ordinary selections that fit the bill. This is a place I hope to enjoy sometime again in the future.

I went to the island for the day. 1st they sat me in the sun at 12 noon. The ceiling had a sun roof. To top it off As I was giving the waiter my order the table next to us called him over in the middle of my sentence he went to them. Went over served them wine never excused himself from me. Passed me again for something else they wanted. I still had the words in my mouth. I got up and asked for my bill so I can leave. The funny thing is I'm self employed and tip 20%. So we went over to the Lazy Flamingo. Great food and service.
