Bad attitude and terrible ethics.Last year, I came to CAE to get a switch fixed on a Peavey amp head. I provided documentation showing I'm the original owner, I bought the amp in-store, and the amp is still under warranty. I also explained that the switch broke while I was using the amp head in my house.Later, CAE called to say Peavey denied my warranty claim, and the repair would cost $65. Well, I called Peavey customer service, and they approved my claim. Then CAE called me AGAIN asking for an extra $35 to do the repair on top of Peavey's reimbursement. (I talked the tech down to $20).These are direct quotes from my phone conversations with the tech:"Customer service tells us one thing, and then the customer goes crying to another department to tell us something else and now the whole situation is all messed up.""This is clearly breakage, probably from transportation."[After I pointed out that my original documentation clearly stated that I purchased in store & kept the amp head in my room ever since]: "Well, I don't want to start an argument, but that's not how warranties work. You're lucky you got anything at all, but it puts us in a bit of a tight spot."I was profoundly frustrated that the tech would go out of his way to advocate against his own customer, even after I'd proven that there was no transit involved. And then the tech thinks it's ok to go double-dipping, taking money from Peavey for the warranty repair AND taking money from me? Okay...nobody is making you list yourself as a Peavey service center. Have a problem with Peavey's warranty rates? Ask them to take you off their list of service centers!Very abrasive, very entitled.
This place is a ripoff. They have a bad attitude and are liars. Stay clear!! I had my a,p there for 12 weeks and it remained untouched. Then they argued that it had been only 10 weeks. If you value your gear, find someone that deserves the $.
Do not do business with this place for any reason whatsoever. Nothing they do or sell cannot be found elsewhere for less money. If you deal with CAE SOUND you risk great anguish and disappointment.
