After hearing good reviews from family friends about the cuisine, we were enthusiastic to try Saigon City - now called Bui and located on Solano. Upon arrival for our reservation we were promptly seated, while the owner, an elderly Vientnamese women glared at us...something seemed off. We were then given one menu to share...then 15 minutes later, when we were ready to order our waiter came over and said ""bad news"" this table is part of a set for a party of 16 and he accidentally gave our 2 person table to someone else. He then asked us if we would stand and wait for another party to finish their meal and pay. What a disgrace! Awful dining experience. We then decided to go for a walk to wait for a table to free up, since there wasn't a bar to have a drink or ample space to wait. We felt so insulted by the poor service, that we soon returned to the restaurant to cancel our reservation. Upon return we met the chef/owner Bui, he unfortunately lacked the etiquette to handle the situation with finesse. He said there was nothing he could do but wait for another party to leave, and then accused us of arriving 15 minutes late! How inappropriate to first make a rude request and then accuse a customer of arriving late! We were so appalled by the poor characters at this restaurant that we left and enjoyed lovely meal down the street. Fortunately there are many other restaurants in the neighborhood with both wonderful service and food! Don't waste your time at Bui!

I've been searching for a vietnamese restaurant that serves great PHO. I came across this restaurant after watching the show, ""Eye on the Bay."" The food looked so appetizing I had to experience it for myself. To my surprise it was even better than I had thought. The food is very well prepared..not too greasy and the portion is a great deal for the price you pay.
I would definitely reccomend you try this place out. I came across another Vietnamese Restaurant that just opened up two blocks away called, ""Pho Saigon."" Not the same!!! Don't get confused, Saigon City is the one you want to try. Family owned and has been around for years.
