My wife took her Mini Cooper to Holland this week for a simple oil change and and air filter replacement. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the invoice and found he charged her $337. When I called to ask about it Shawn told me my wife had ordered a slew of services she wouldn't even know to ask about. This place preys on people who are not knowledgeable about cars. Then to add insult to injury after just 50 miles the ""service needed"" light came on. I wonder if they did any of the work at all or may have caused damage to the car. Now I need to take the car in to another repair shop to check out the warning light. Stay away from this place.
This company may offer good work but they disrespect the people of San Mateo by parking their cars on the sidewalk. Almost everyday two or more cars are parked lengthwise in the sidewalk. This means our handicapped residents, mothers with strollers and children on bikes must go out into the street with the traffic in order to pass. Poor community spirit to say the least. They have been asked many times over several years to end this practice but they resist, complying for short periods or not at all. How strange. They service high end cars but have no consideration for the working class neighborhood where they do business. They would not behave so in their own residential neighborhoods. Maybe they believe our people don't deserve their respect.

I first posted this to Yelp....I recommend them. Period. I faxed the following letter to Mark, founder of Holland Car Care:

A little over 19 years ago, I received my Holland Car Care coupon in the mail, I remember talking to you, Mark, directly and you said that you wanted my business, and encouraged me to come in after the Volvo's 4 year warrantee period (six month later). I did and continue to service my cars here today. I hope to purchase my next car from Holland Car Care!
All I wanted was to have a dependable car and so asked, ""Please service my car as if I planned to travel to LA tomorrow"", and Holland Car Care continues to provide me with a car always maintained where I do not have to worry about breakdowns on the side of the road. With over 450,000 miles on my car, and as of this day, still have the confidence to drive anywhere in California without a second thought.
Although I have had a few freeway breakdowns, I attribute these to times when I pushed the maintenance window by deferring service..
Thank you personally, for setting the standard: trust and service. I highly recommend you to anyone interested in the best trustworthy service in the bay area. Thank you, thank you, and Thank you.
