When Manuel and Ana bought Aldo's in 1986, they had been looking for a neighborhood pizza parlor that they could run as a family business. One taste of Aldo's original pizza and they knew that they had found their place. They continued Aldo's tradition of using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. They also knew that different people have different tastes, so they began expanding the menu to include other Italian dishes like scrumptious pasta and calzones, as well as traditional favorites like hamburgers, sandwiches and salads. But the most popular addition was three new types of crusts, one for every taste. Manny put his decades in the pizza business to good use. He spent countless hours in the kitchen to develop the recipes for a perfect deep-dish Chicago style, a healthy whole-wheat version of the original thin crust, and his hearty but thin California style.

simply the best in San Mateo

My family and I love this place. The pizza is da best. The crust is amazing. Try their pizza with white sauce.

Favorite Pizza of All Time

This is the best pizza on the peninsula by far. Their thin crust is just amazing. Not like a typical NY crackery thin crust. This is really a unique flaky and delicious crust. We're been coming here for years and we've never found anything local that can touch it. Ok, now I gotta go get one!!

Old-Fashioned Italian Pizza Place

Just might be the best pizza I've had... that's a bold statement, but their thin-crust style pizza is so light, crispy and tasty that I can't think of any better. Nothing gourmet or trendy here, just great pizza. The decor is a little outdated - looks like it hasn't changed much over the years. But it also seems like the pizza hasn't changed either so that's a good thing. Very family-friendly - it reminds me of going out for pizza night. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. So much better than the generic papa johns and pizza huts. Their thick crust is also good, but that thin crust is really out of this world.
