....Went there once & didn't want to go anytime soon after that first visit... ! ;( Had to keep repeating myself to what I needed for haircut during process... (example:...no water on hair, request to blow my hair at end; tapering on all sides...etc.)Didn't seem to be concentrating of the work at hand & talking to others & being distracted very easily... Also noticed most of the beauticians were quite young working there...etc. Didn't take me long to figure out there wouldn't be "A Second Visit"...here again... ;)PS (...Enter at your own risk...;) )-HartOtex... ;)=================================

Griselda is the best at cutting curly hair. I came from Shreveport, Louisiana dreading the search for a new hairstylist. As a naturally curly (Shirley Temple curly) haired person....I've gone through a multitude of hairstylists that absolutely have no idea how to cut curly hair!!! So I checked…

...Hair-Cut was okay....& fast... Atomosphere satisfactory......Could improve on prices & give qualified discounts for seniors & military but does not... Seems like prices vary up & down...? (Last time I was charged $11.00 + tip... ? This time I was charged $10 + tip...$3... A little lost on that...? ;) )...Don't think I'll go there next time....?! (..By the way I understand her other location across from HEB -on 641 E. Hopkins behind "The The Cornucopia" organic store on 1104 Thorpe Ln.- Also called "Sophia's" is soon to close their doors in near future very possibly...not sure though when exactly nor for what reason...I used to go there quiet regularly w/ Mo...the owner & never really had any complaints...& decided to try someone different...that was a mistake... ;( (Check my review on "Supercuts"...)...-HartOtex... ;)===============
I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this nail salon. I just moved to San Marcos and rely heavily on online reviews. This place had the best reviews so I was very excited and had high expectations. When I arrived a man was ushered in from the back to do my nails and the man the ENTIRE TIME did not speak one word to me, which from my opinion isn't very good customer service. He cut my finger with the file and was very rushed and rough during the service, which I told him multiple times and asked him to be more gentle. He did a very spotty job on my cuticles and the paint job was mediocre. The part that really bothered me the most was when I asked him the price of my gel manicure ($30, which I believe is very expensive) he then proceeded to charge me for $35. I told him that he had charged me $5 extra and he insisted that I just put my pin in to run the card without answering my question on the extra $5. I refused and told him that he told me it was $30 and then he proceeded to tell me that the $5 was for his gratuity, which I did NOT tell him to do. When getting my nails done I tend to add 30%-40% for gratuity and planned on tipping him well but the fact that he did a spotty job and then tried to ring out his own tip without my permission left me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this nail salon.
I shopped going here after every time I would come by to get my hair cut (side shave) I kept getting charged a different price each time higher than before. (Once I was charged $20! It's just a side shave, which had grown out a couple inches)Shaggy's was the closest hair salon to me since I lived in the apts right across the street and didn't have a car. After a while of up pricing I got fed up and stopped going.(Another time she gave me and "edge up" on my side which I didn't even ask for!) I was going to school full time and getting my hair cut was pretty much a luxury when broke. I ended up finding another salon in the square that was consistent but worth the walk.
Horribly rude staff, very disrespectful and was disappointed in how my nails turned out. Go to hot nails instead, they're great!
If you are looking for a amazing nail salon, look no further. Although I hesitate to send people there because I want to keep the best kept secret to myself. With that said, I have to share. Lynn is amazing and pays close attention to detail. Pricing is very reasonable. I heard the pedicures were great but I haven't tried one yet.
This is not the hair company but an ex employee that built a fake listing at her new salon. The San Marcos Hair Co is at 225 N LBJ Dr San Marcos Tx and has been there for over 20 years.
Janaa is the greatest. She is professional and does an amazing job on my hair. She is fun to visit and has reasonable prices.
Claudia and her staff are always eager to assist and their work is second to none , affordable and funny you will always leave with a smile on your face ,hence why i keep going back.
