My wife and I — along with a group of friends — came here during the evening of Aug. 8. Long story short, we both got food poisoning. Just awful. Spent the entire night vomiting. I got the enchilada ranchera and while it wasn't very good, we think it was her dish, enchilada verde, that was the issue. She ate 60 percent of it and I finished it. She is a bit sicker than I am. No one else in our group was impacted. This was the only place we ate out the entire day — the rest of the day we'd had small snacks from home, bagels, cereal, etc. — there's really no question it was the food from Acapulco that got us sick.
First off, good food. Now, I work a late night job and frequent this place between 1am and 4am and I have betten getting the worst service. What's worse is, I'm a regular tipper. A good one at that. Even with crappy service. I understand, I work late night hospitality. It can really suck. I have received substandard service the last three time I went through the drive through. First time, when I was handed my bag of food, after tipping at least $3, I asked for hot carrots and green sauce nicely. I received an eye roll and "Really, chicka?". Yes, really. Second time, I didn't receive my drink. But did receive hot carrots and green sauce in my bag without asking. The third time, I asked for hot carrots at the intercom. Just to give fair warning that I wanted them. I received none. After checking my bag, I looked up to ask for some and green sauce but the window was shut and the employee was long gone. And this was after tipping $2 for a $7 meal. The worst part is, before all of this, I liked this place and at this time with these same employees. I don't know why things have changed. But, from now on, when I pull into Jilberto's off of Nordahl and see that it's closed, I will no longer take the short ride down Mission to this establishment. Nor will I suggest it to my customers. I'm sorry.
Great food. Fast service. Perfect dinner spot after seeing a movie at the Edwards Theater right next door.
Great daily special for a great price! would have never seen it had I not been walking around waiting for my auto detail.
