If you are in need of anything other than wasted time spent don?t depend on calling our Police Department.
....A woman in need, her life being threatened, in fear of something terrible about to happen calls SLPD to come to the rescue. Upon showing up 4hrs later, the officer listens to the woman in fear for the safety of her child and self explain what had taken place. After her pleading for a report, a restraining order, any kind of help, the officer tells her ?I am not a secretary for the court system, I have about 6 cases just like this every Sunday and don?t have the time to sit and create paperwork.? ?If you?d like something done about this I suggest you visit the court house and file the appropriate paperwork yourself.? Unless she becomes injured SLPD DIDN?T CARE!!
?. A baby possum lay in a planter box at a young ladies home. It is sick and dieing. Fearing her child may get bitten, she calls Animal Control. They don?t have anyone on duty after 4:30pm leaving SLPD to pick up the slack. She calls SLPD as the dispatcher answers the young lady explains the situation. The female dispatcher said she was too busy and to call animal shelters there is nothing she can do and hung up. 4 more times this young lady calls SLPD after no luck anywhere else to help and each time put on hold for over 20min. Finally the female dispatcher answers, rude in tone, the young lady asked help again. the reply she got was, ?I am too busy, our officers don?t have time to worry about things like that"" and the dispatcher hung up the phone.
How is it possible that our SLPD those who are meant to Protect and Serve their community, can blatantly disrespect and discard a woman with child in need of help?!
Ladies go buy your guns and protect yourselves and your children because San Leandro Police officers are ""TOO BUSY""!
