Independence High School, located in San Jose, Calif., offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 3,500 students, and has more than 210 members in its teaching faculty and over 110 support personnel. It offers subjects, such as business, English, foreign languages, home economics, industrial education, mathematics, performing arts, physical education, science, social studies, special education and visual arts. The school also offers a variety of sports activities, including cross-country, football, tennis, volleyball, water polo, basketball, soccer, wrestling, badminton, baseball, swimming and track. The parent-teacher association involves parents in a variety of activities to aid the educational process. The school is affiliated to the East Side Union High School District.
