Top Number 1 Cakery Institution

Dicks is fabulous institution in San Jose. They pastries are like art AND They can even airbrush a photo on to your every so delicious cake!

For all important occasions - Dick's is the bakery and experience for me. This is not your safeway cake!

There's a reason they're known for the Burnt Almond Cake

My family has enjoyed this Bakery for nearly 2 decades now. Our favorite cake, of course, is their burnt almond cake. We love this cake so much, we passed on a traditional tiered wedding cake for my sister's wedding and purchased 2 sheet cakes that fed over 100 people. Ironically - a lot of the guests were judgemental when they saw a sheet cake as the wedding cake - but all everyone could say when they ate it was how delicious it was. After the wedding, I received nearly 20 different requests from some of the guests of the wedding - where did we get the cake from.

Incredible. Truly Incredible.

Burnt Almond cake

I have been eating Burnt Almond cake from this bakery since I was a little girl and it has never failed to please me (except when they accidenty gave me the chocolate variety instead of regular white). I honestly haven't eaten anything else from them, but I'm sure the rest is good too.

I'm having a large burnt almond cake made for my graduation party, and I will probaby have one made for my wedding!

High Priced Deliciousness

Besides their famous burnt almond cake, they have many tasty treats like brownies, eclairs, cream puffs, and all sorts of cakes, cookies, danishes, and breads. I've been a customer for over 20 but the never-ending price increases have just about crossed the line of not being worth the price anymore.

BURNT ALMOND CAKE -- 'nuff said

The reason you can't miss this bakery is the Burnt Almond Cake. You absolutely, positively cannot get a better cake anywhere, any time, period. Go with the original white cake -- and order one twice as big as you need, because people will want seconds (and you'll want the leftovers). Utterly to die for. (Disclaimer: If you're one of those odd people who do not like frosting, you may not like it quite as much -- the cake is light, fluffy and delicious, but the filling and frosting are what make this cake phenomenal.)

Burnt Almond Cake - simply the best

Whenever we want to buy cake in our family we don't think twice. The burnt almond cake (plain) at Dick's bakery is just the best cake there is.

Known for the BEST Burnt Almond Cake

D's Bakery is known thru-out Silicon Valley for the BEST Burnt Almond cake! It comes in chocolate and marbled, but the white is my favorite. All of their cakes are fresh and moist, but the Burnt Almond is to die for! It is a combination of being light, but sweet, but not overly rich. Gotta go get some now...
