I have been struggling with intense lower back pains & was seeing my Chiro monthly & getting conttizon injections... Till one day my Chiro suggested to think of practicing Pilates to strengthen my Pelvic and CORE muscles ..after visiting so many studios I decided to try NuFit Studio. Am so glad I did cause it Changed my life completely!! Tamara offered very good New Clients Packadges at that time and her prices so far are the best in the whole Bay Area. I have been practicing Pilates with Tamara for more then 2 years now and not only I lost about 20 Lbs but am also off the cortizon shots and feeling my best each day ., Her teaching skills are incredible; she motivates me and her knowledge in nutrition is so helpful .. I never have the same Pilates session .. Tamara is very creative so it's always fun and always something new at her studio .. I would highly recommend NuFit Pilates to anyone who would like to get back into great shape and become healthy again ..!!!
If you are a person who just wants to go to the gym, workout and go home....this is the gym for you. The staff don't associate with the members, I have never seen a Personal Trainer train anyone, and in fact I have seen a Personal Trainer bring in his own trainer and be trained. The atmosphere is unmotivated, the machines are constantly breaking, and the place is dirty. I don't see the staff ever clean, let alone come out from behind the desk. They all hide in the back office and disassociate themselves from the members. I do still go to this location only on the weekends because of all the reasons I stated above. The rest of the week, I go to other locations because the staff are more welcoming/friendly, the atmosphere is more motivating, the building/machines are cleaner and it's always a positive experience.
I go to this gym about twice a week since it is near my office. I like this gym over the one at Cox which recently closed because they have TV's and you can hook up your headphones and listen to the TV while running on the treadmill or elliptical. Unfortunately with any gym it will have a "Gym" smell. The main reason I go there is because it has a basketball court which I try to play as much as I can. The court is fairly small and you can only play 4v4 since the court is so small. When I go there (8:30-11pm) there is a line and it gets busy so you have to wait for a while. They used to close the court at 11pm but recently they have been keeping it open longer. They also have a small swimming area with 3 or 4 lanes where you can swim. Overall the gym is good and not overly crowded.
There's a sauna, a pool, large work out areas and so on. Women, if you don't like feeling like a slab of meat, then go to an all womens club - b/c I hate it when women complain of getting whistled or looked at - dont blame the gym, they have nothing to do with it. The gym is very accomadating to all genders. They throw a lot of great "parties" for customer appreciation as well - its a good place. yes crowded at peak hours, but that's everywhere. My 3 year old son esp enjoys the childcare as well. Very Friendly!
This facility is small, but that's its appeal: it's very well appointed and it's low-key and comfortable. The staff are all fantastic, except for the daytime manager, some guy with a mustache and a tattoo on the back of his neck. This guy is a control freak who thinks he's a shot caller for everyone around him. He's got a smart mouth and he'll threaten to "yank" your membership if you attempt to assert your dignity when he runs his ignorant mouth at you. Other than that jerk, it's a great facility.
For those who have a problem with parking, you do realize theres more then 1 parking garage, right? Santana Row YES is a very busy place on the weekends and evenings, thats because it's "thee" place to hang out with friends or to dinner with your partner, hello its like saying Disneyland is crowded YES it is because it's fun to be there. Don't go there if you're in a hurry to shop for 1 item, go when you have time to enjoy your self. Have dinner, walk around, maybe catch a movie?
I would highly recommend AVAC. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think the biggest perk is that this gym is very family oriented. The Absolutfit classes are high energy and the Trainers are educated. I also love the pilates classes. All of the friendly members make for a nice environment. Also, the childcare and the staff are amazing. My kids always leave happy. Thanks, AVAC!
This is a really lovely, upscale place to eat and shop. Unfortunately, most of the stores are too expensive for me to consider buying anything, but it’s fun to look.
Very great customer service n very clean
