My favorite spot for sichuan noodles. Gizzard noodle is a must try (alert: might be a little bit spicy & salty for Americans). I also like their free green bean soup. MIAN is Chinese for noodles, and be aware that this is not a noodle house for something like Japanese ramen or Korean cold noodles. It's sichuan & chongqing style noodles. It's owned by Chengdu Taste's Tony Xu.The place is small and very popular, so expect a long wait.
This is part of a chain of Chinese vegetarian spots in SGV. The food is reasonably priced and the dishes are a spin on popular dishes like vegetarian orange chicken or kung pao chicken. They also have traditional Chinese dishes. Unfortunately the food tend to be a little greasy and too salty for my taste at least at this location. There are other places like Vege Paradise that is way better!
If you love spicy authentic Sichuan hot pot, this place is for you! This place is my favorite hot pot place in LA. They have a lot of food items to choose from. Makes me feel like I am back to Chengdu.
My wife and I have been here about 10 times. It's really good the broth is tasty and they have a large selection of meats and veggies. We bring out-of-town visitors here when we can. The outside patio is especially cool..
Man Chan Cuisine is famous for the chicken dishes. Coconut chicken pot and chicken in wooden can are very tasty. Of course, their most famous item is the coconut cake dessert. Get the one with the whole coconut. It is worth what you paid.
I love spicy-hot food. Yesterday 4 friends introduced me to this amazing family restaurant. It really helped that 3 of my friends speak Mandarin and knew this menu very, very well. We shared Tofu with Chili, house special spicy Fried Rice, Pork with Green Chilis, Chicken with Chili and Ginger, and their special Cabbage (for unique flavor, ask for peeled rather than cut). I can't wait to go back, but I warn you, I've been ramping up my chili consumption for weeks to prepare for this place. I make salsa at home from a mix of jalapeños and serranos, lime, ginger, garlic, and basil. Even then, eating at Chilliking is an intense experience. If you're an anglo American, like me, best be an adventuresome diner and in the mood to stretch your cultural boundaries a bit. Better yet, do what I did: go with a regular: someone who has a couple favorite dishes, can speak Mandarin with the waiters, and can show you the ropes.

I worked there about two years. It was a tiny small tutoring and day care center. There were around 30 students all together. Some teacher did not teach and let student study by himself. Some teacher closed the door and let student sleep inside classroom. Principal sold out of date food to students. She wrapped the food with used printing paper to save money. It would not cause immediate health problem, but it was not good for long term. The salary is not high enough to hire qualified teachers. Teacher got 48% turoring fee paid by parent and principal got 52%. She still required teachers buying gift for students. She also sold stuff to teachers in order to make money. I did not have probelm with students or parents. However, when student did not come and notified her, she did not notify me. I finally quite.
This place is an experience for non spicy eaters. The flavor is great, so is the spice! Be prepared to face the heat!!
