I have had many great times here. Had the chance to introduce a good friend of mine to Indian food here, and many years ago, I happened to be on an errand with my two boys and I tricked them into ‘trying’ Indian food, and to my amazement, they have been hooked ever since. As a matter of fact, they eat Indian food more often than I do! Every time I am in the City, I visit Tandoori Mahal. Clean place, polite people, and the food is awesome. Right off of Broadway on Kearny. Easy to find.

I give this place a rating of 3 stars for the following reasons: The place is tiny, congested and packed (but not sure why since Shalimar, Pakwan and Chutney in the same block are actually better in my opinion.I tried a few things here. The Karahi Chicken was great, while the Tandoor Fish was average and the Lamb Seek Kabab was not so good. Again, not worth the wait. Oh and they don't take American Express.
If you've been here before and never had the Indian bread then you have to bring yourself back here to try it. If you've never been here before then I beg you to get the Indian bread. Get two plates or three plates! It is something that is so simple but one of my favorite appetizer ever!Enjoyed the experience. Great Food
So it's not your fancy Indian cafe with fine linen. Who cares? The prices are great and the food is very flavourful. It's a nice respite against the cold SF weather. My suggestion is to bring several friends and share the meal. Cuts the price down a lot!
Service was very slow even on a night when there were only 3 tables occupied. Butthe food was worth the wait. I love their Nehari and Chicken tikka. This place, while not as popular, crowded or hyped as Shalimar, is almost as good as Shalimar, but cleaner.
Thank you for the great service your staff is awesome very nice and polite, your food is amazingly tasty and I love it! Thanks for everything and an enjoyable experience in your restaurant!
Located in the Tenderloin, on the outside this place does not look like much. But the food is awesome! What more can you say...great price....great eats! with great flavor.
There are very few places that have all three things going for them - food, service and value for money. This place takes the cake on all three. An absolute staple
The price point at this place is very reasonable. The staff is polite. The korma and saag were loaded with flavour and well-balanced. Excellent naan bread!
Decent buffet. The naan was good. They only had one chicken dish (with a cream sauce) and they used tandoori chicken as its base.
