I KNOW MY REVIEW IS TO FREEKING LONG / A MAKE NO APOLOGIES FOR THAT ! I discovered Eduardo (the co-owner) at Echos Hair Design in July, He gave me the best hair cut I'd ever had. I went from all one length, past the shoulder long hair to a 'Louise Brooks' bob look that ended at the jaw line. (It was right before a trip to Paris, and I felt like a star in the French city!) I'd never experienced such an eye for detail before while having my hair cut. Painstakingly, he measured, trimmed, evaluated and trimmed to even things up as needed. I walked out feeling like a million dollars! If you aren't happy with your hair, he isn't happy either and will take the time to make it right so that you will love it at the end (Heck, even if you don't realize there's something to be unhappy with, he will take the time to fix it!) His initial consultations are also a treat he is not rushed . He listens to what I'm saying and states it back to me to avoid any confusion and he's able to see my personal hair patterns and he can determine the best places to trim it. He looks at the whole picture, not just the hair and consistently gives a cut that looks terrific with my face shape. I have never seen anybody get out of any seat in that salon and not have a great look. If you're interested in edgy, quirky, and fun, this is your place! And if you just want a simple trim for your locks, he does that exquisitely as well!, In the past I have experience trims from HELL, so even when I get a trim I can close my eyes and relax and know that Eduardo is not going to cut inches of my head. He recommend coloring my hair, I mentioned I have no interest in color he has never brought it up again! And I love booking my appointments online . Price wise Eduardo is less expensive than my boy in New York but I will not mention that to him unless of course he reads my review , the value of the work done at Echos Hair Design has made a return customer out of me! If Eduardo were to move, I'd have to go to wherever he is to have my hair cut!

Let me give you a bit of background about my hair, it's frizzy, dry and brassy. I was traveling from Florida to the Frisco area and arrived unfinished for an important client meeting. In desperation I asked the concierge at the Hilton where to go and she recommended Suad's. Well, not only is Suad a sweet stylist but she stayed late and don't be fooled this woman is a magician. She transformed my hair into this glossy and smooth gorgeously colored hair. And the next morning when I woke it still looked great, even till the end of the day. WOW! Her credentials are impressive as well but she is so modest. I was so lucky to get such a super designer because like so many other attempts made other hair specialist this could have been a huge mistake. I wish I could take Saud home with me to Florida, I wish there were more stylists like her.
I have been gong to Suad for 5 months now and want to rave about the new improved self image I have re: Suad's creative and skilled work on my curly, coarse hair and I a man over 50 . Her use of several types of scissors and a straight razor" are used very gently and slowly with so much care and she takes her time. You feel very cared about as she "listens" to all your concerns and suggestions. Suad made me look great and "younger" with several different haircuts with, one of them being at my suggestion something a bit more daring for a planned vacation. Her fun sense of humor and warmth are additional qualities that will make you feel extra comfortable. Looking forward to seeing your positive feedback here re: your individual & personalized experience's with this very talented hair stylist.
I love my Salon ! .The stylists are top rated. They know what they're doing and they take their time with you with a genuine interest in what you want. You feel you are in the hands of real pros.. they are all very cute too :) The ambience in Barnett's is very cool quiet and relaxed, even in the midst of the Mission district. The Western Theme.. really takes you out of the busy here and now. It's a great intimate little salon with high ceilings so you can breathe, and I dont mean product fumes either ! I continue to go there for cut and highlights... Why look around for anything else when you have found perfect hip and expert ? It took me a long time to stick to one salon , but I am sold on this one at least until they expand or leave town :(
I had my hair cut by two different people at different times. Both of them were great to work with and listened to what I had to say. I have long hair and I did not want them to chop any length. They did a great job of cleaning up the split ends and also giving me a new style since I had the same style for yearsss. Each of the styles were easy to maintain and dont take up time to do in the morning. The charges were pretty reasonable considering this is San Francisco. It cost me about $90 with tip. The decor and ambience is fun and hip. They greet you with a drink if you want. (I always get hot tea -- you can get a glass of wine if you want too - i dont trust my hair to someone if I am drinking :) Its halfway between my office and home and its an easy walk.
Jenny is the best. After I experienced how she removed my in grown, I never let anybody touched my toenails. That place is a very good example of TEAMWORK, they work fast and effecient. It is fun watching them go like playing musical chairs. From one pedicure to the next manicure and cleaning the spa in between, what Good workers. No long wait in line, no rudeness, all smiles all the time. In between, Jenny also does waxing, what a treat to visit one place and have the comfort of having alll those done in less than an hour, most of the time just during my lunch break. After Jenny gave my husband a manicure he's been accompanying me in my trips to the salon on weekends. He also likes Jenny doing his manicure, very clean and effiicient not to mention FAST.
I went to Iris for the first time right after a break-up. I was feeling down and hated my hair, look etc. I had no idea what to do with my hair so I asked her to give me something "city and trendy". I was AMAZED with the results. I went from long straight blah hair to a short trendy cut. I work in a super conservative industry and my first day back at work the receptionist actually told me that the cut was "sexy"! Needless to say I felt fantastic and have gone to Iris ever since. Iris has a great eye for what will look good on you. If you're unsure of what would loook good on you she will give you ideas and a straight answer. I will never ever go anyplace else to get my hair cut. IRIS IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!
My daughter, my husband and I are ardent fans of both Hamideh and Fereshteh at Sisters Salon & Spa. These women really know hair - all kinds. I've seen them create beautiful heads of hair on women who are, frankly, thinning badly. There's no texture or kind of hair they don't know how to manage. My daughter still returns to San Francisco from New York City to have her hair colored and cut by Fereshteh. I wouldn't entrust my hair to anyone but Hamideh. Truly, I cannot say enough great things about their skills. I am often stopped by strangers asking who does my hair, and I gladly recommend Sisters to each and every one of them. There are no better or more reasonably priced stylists in San Francisco.
So I went to this nail spa on a Monday. Walked in with two people already doing pedicures, the lady in front told me to come back in 20, so I did. Picked my color, soaked my feet, and they started on me and my friend. All their instruments came in sterilized packets, and they gave me back the file, pumice, and buffers at the end. They also gave complimentary green tea or bottled water. The chairs are super comfy and the ladies are really nice. I had the coconut pedicure which comes with the callus buster. Totally worth every cent. It came with a hot towel treatment and massage. Will definetely return. Quick tip - meter parking on clay or powell is the best, they helped feed my meter too!
