Bad Food! Rude waitress!

The food was so bad! Pork Chops were not cooked on the inside and the other dishes were bland and tasteless! They even charged us $7 for a bowl of white rice which was appalling!
Beware the bespectacled waitress! She was hawking me as I signed the credit card bill and told me that my 12% tip (based on the total bill including the taxes) was not good enough and that I needed to leave her 15%. She even quoted the dollar amount I should give!! I did add a couple more dollars to the tip as I didn

Rude waitress. Food isn't bad

Yuet Lee is usually my preferred place for late night dining because it opens until 3A.M.

However, last I went there, I brought a friend who came to visit San Francisco just last week. The waitress was angry about something I don't know. She looked angry all the time and rushed us to order and get out of the restaurant. Collected all the dishes even before we finished it without asking a thing.

I wasn't very satisfied with how she treated us, so I decided to not fully give her the tip. I left on the table a small amount of money we got back as change. This waitress then came up to us yelling and looked at us like we were some homeless who didn't know any manners.

""Do you know you have to give 15% tip in America?""
""You should be greatful we are not charging you for the box""

Yes... the box for leftover stuff. What the hell was that attitude? I recommended this restaurant to my best friend and this was how they treat us?

I'll never go eat there ever again.

Good Chinatown Eatery

I don't think this is the best eatery in Chinatown, but we found the food fresh, generously portioned, reasonably priced, and flavorful. We enjoyed eating there and would go back anytime if we lived in SF.

Fun Experience

The best thing about the dining experience here is ordering one dish and getting another instead. The seafood entrees are tasty and plentiful. Forget the service but the prawns with oytser sauce are delicious. We would return anytime.

Best Chinese food in SF!

This is the best place for authentic chinese food. Everything I've had has been wonderful - the seafood is very fresh, as are the vegetables and they have a wide variety of choices on the menu to suit everyone. I love the salt & pepper calamari as well as the salt & pepper crab (which has a batter over the shell and is a bit spicy - EXCELLENT!) The owner & the staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is clean. I recently moved to Palo Alto and if my family calls to tell me they're going to Yuet Lee, I will drive up to SF to meet them for dinner!

Salt and pepper squid! Sauteed pea shoots!

I can't believe I lived here for years before going to Yuet Lee. By far the best late night eats in the city, it's worth a trip at any time of day for that squid and those pea shoots... Come expecting zilch in the way of ""atmosphere"" -- but, in fact, Yuet Lee has tons of atmosphere, of the awesomely divey (but very clean) kind. A San Francisco institution, and rightly so.

Great late night spot

I've visited Yuet Lee on many drunken nights and the food is great. The crispy noodles and a couple of the egg dishes are the way to go, though everything is good and made from scratch.

Good Authentic Chinese

The decor may scare some people away but they will be missing out on one of the best Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. All dishes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Order any dish with abalone and you are getting the real deal, not something from a can.

This is great place to know about when visting San Francisco because it is open till 3am. The place is always packed regardless of the time and the majority eating are locals. Please be warned that this place only accepts CASH.

Rivals House of Nan King

Great place for a slap up nosh, and the food rivals HONK. If you're visiting Chinatown, it's a must!

An institution

One of the very best food options in the city after 2AM, a real SF institution. The fresh steamed fish, fried rice, mango beef, so many things on the menu hit the spot after a night of heavy clubbing. I have lived with and come to enjoy the ugly decor, the crowds, the tea served in plastic cups, the colorful street scene outside the big windows, having other parties seated at your table when they need to cram, even the absence of hot and sour soup on the menu. But the service has become unbearable lately. Waiters who I recognize from years of service, and who have even come to recognize me, have gotten brusque, cold, grumpy. Maybe the 2-3AM rush of drunken partiers irritates the staff but they shouldn't take it out on everyone.

Wonderful Food & Friendly Service!

Sit by the window and see the hustle and bustle of Chinatown while enjoying some of the best Chinese food in the area! Servers are friendly and very efficient. I make a trip to go there whenever I feel like Chinese food.

Love the duck and rice....

I've been coming to yuet lee for the last two years, and I get the same thing every time. A plate of duck, with rice...delicious! Great place to hit late night, after the bars. Inexpensive, very very fast service, and tasty food...What more could you want, on a late night after the bars, that is....
